  1. I was asked to build a larsen trap, as a test guinea pig, as I have quite good wood-working skills, but no experience with a larsen, here's a few pictures of the finished artical, yes I know the door runners should be under the access plate, I put them above to allow more head height for the call bird am trying a mixture of baiting and dummy magpie's to entice the first one in, no luck as yet, been in situ 2 days, but it is the school holidays, lots of noisey kids etc, its ontop of my fert court, and the tree behind is a favorite roost spot for magpie's have heard RICHIE was a guinea

  4. how can you say that, you'vre got a dozen posts to your name, and been a member since 2007, if you really think its "gone down the pan" whats keeping you here
  5. take my word for it, ITS ILEGAL you can gas them with aluminium phosphide tablets but gassing with engine exhaust gasses is a big no no
  6. cleaning out one of the sheds, Ive just found some sparrow netting which i forgot i had, used at work for bird proofing its the same stuff that the basket net is made from, so if you or anyone needs some, give me a shout, it'll be cheaper than cost (plus p&p) and finish your basket off nice here's some pics for REW, its a homemade basket by a guy called RAMBO from another forum, it did have a landing net type thing under it, which I took off, and made a proper net base, using the sparrow net

  18. no disrespect meant here mate, but have you got ferrets already? reading your posts, sounds like you have them shut in a wooden box, with nowhere to go, we have had endless posts on courts and hutches, top right of page is the search option, click on that, then enter courts or hutches etc, it will bring up every post on the subject, save us doing it all again,

Im so glad you said that lloyd, us mods get given a hard time sometimes when trying to sort out the good from the bad
  20. noticed the monkey nut under the trap, was that the bait?, attached to the yellow plate, thats going to have a few thinking, looks liked he backed in
  21. get another ferret am not trying to be funny, but asking a single ferret to bolt rabbits, is in my eye's asking alot, ferrets by nature are socialble and should be kept in two's or more, if you havent been ferreting in a while, that could be your problem, also Ive always found, if one ferrets darts down the hole, others will follow, or as already stated, maybe the fert know's better than you, last week, we ferreted a warren that I would have bet £100 on, that we'd get loads from, we got one, yet a bit further along, on a sorry looking warren, we had bolts/digs, and lots of blooded ferts
  22. I think they are great mmate, good introduction into 4x4's, yet not too pricey, cheap on tax, as they only 1600cc mine was a bargain at £500, because me mate was emergrating to oz, have used it around some orchards in kent on a nights rimfire shooting, and it works brill, only downside is no space, unless you lay the rear seats down, and then its only a 2 seater, so I bought a small trailer, made up a removable raised wooden lid, and use that to carry stuff on big ferreting jobs
  23. in whos eyes ? a rabbit is a rabbit ! in my opinion, you cant stop ferreting just because theres young around, a kill is a kill. the only thing that stops me ferreting is not been able to get through the under growth. rich or, if his hat is on back to front just noticed something in that photo, the dog thinks my head is on the wrong way round & hes looking to see what im looking at ! lol, nice one mate, guess what, I've got myself a new hat like yours, better than that ruskie one I had, was going to "model" it for you, but I'll wait till we go out
