  1. Id say its easier to grab under chin and pushed head backwards, but prefer stretching myself
  2. yup, I deleated it, read the rules on posting, weekly bumps yes, daily bumps no
  3. a sharp point on these is not a good idea, spiked ferret anyone your better off, welding a "nut" to the bottom, that way you get resistance while pushing through soil, and can then feel when it goes into a burrow as resistance is gone
  4. very hit and miss I'd say, soon as possible search everywhere, under sheds etc, knock on doors and speak to as many neighbours as possible can you get your hands on a live catch rabbit trap, as this could be baited with rabbit and left near hutch in case she's still in the area, and wanders back of a night I've got one you can lend if your not to far
  5. i noticed that brookie had posted earlier that he was going to try and post some pictures later but this post seem's to have dissapeared????? I deleated the post, as it was the same as a "bump" it seems the seller has not read the rules on bumping, and thinks it can be a daily occurance Ive left this for them to read, but in future, it will be deleated totally, without warning, thats writtern it the rules too
  6. unless you know what your doing with poison, Id suggest leaving that, and going down the road of either trapping, or as you'vre already said ferrets or terriers whats your exact location, I have smokers and jacks
  7. It was about 20years ago, I had gone away for a few days and left the jill in the hands of my now ex wife, she had not kept the cage clean, just chucked in food, on my return I took her to the "blue cross" as she was on her last legs, she died two days later, and they informed me the reason
  8. where in essex are you mate, if you put an exact location, someone might know a place on your doorstep where you can collect

    ticks

use the search button, there's endless pages on tick removal
  10. I added the MAY to johns post, as although he has had a jill die from non mating, as have I (many years ago) its NOT gurantee'd that they will die
  11. if they are photos you are taking at present with a digital camera, rather than older pictures already taken, simply re set your cameras memory, most cameras have at least 3 settings for picture quaility, and the default is always the highest resolution, which is great if you want to print them onto paper, but BAD!! for uploading onto computers, simply re set to the lowest setting, before taking pictures, this is computer friendly size, and then there should be no need to re size once loaded onto your computer if however its pictures you have already taken and saved, do as brimmer has said
  12. of the two I ordered from vistaprint, one was perfect, but the other had got a crease in the post/packaging, at £15 I couldent be bothered to send it back, so as said, they are stuck inside the rear windows using those suction caps used in fish tanks,
  13. one main thing to remember, is pest control is more a way of life than a job, what I mean there, is you have got to want to do stuff that might not be pleasant, rather than good stuff like bunnies and moles, when I was in the building game, I was earning a min of 30k a year, I took the job in pest control, using my construction skills to get my foot in the door, with a starting salary of 15k, big difference, but I gave myself a year to see how it went, in that year my firm put me in for more certification than you could shake a stick at, we do lots of work for the underground, and I have n
  14. well, the kennel is finished, will give it a few more days for the concrete to cure over properly, before introducing the dog to his new home,
  15. if you can see rabbit runs in the field, then set snares on them, Im no expert on the subject, but if the run is visable, snare it, jusr remember to count how many you put out, and collect the next morning, make sure too, that where you snare, there are no non target species about, cattle etc
  16. although my works van is signwrittern, it did not have any suggestion on it, that it was a pest control company, I got two magnetic signs from VISTAPRINT for around £15.00 postage, but the quaility of magnet, made them fall off at speed , these were for my 4x4, offering pest control, I did worry about "anti's" putting my jeep windows in etc, but in the end, I stuck the signs to the inside of the rear side windows, and left them there, lots of people walk past and read the signs, and although as yet Im to recieve any work via the signs, I hope that it'll stick in people's minds, for when th
  17. where does this myth come from, in all my years ferreting, I've never ever had a hob ferret go to sleep down a hole, never dug to a sleeping hob

    GOOD BYE

clowns need reporting to mod's, thats what were here for
  19. if its tax'd then it must be insured, and therefore mot'd, so any distance
  20. can remember someone off here made one using shelf brackets and an old landing net, far better to find someone who can do welding, at bung them a few quid to knock you something up
  21. good bit of advice, but even better pictures
  22. a lot of pest control firms will take you on without the bpca certs, specially if your coming from the building trade and have a full driving license, and it turn, they will pay for your training, I joined my firm with no pest control quailifications, but 20yrs plus in construction, as they wanted someone, not scared of heights, and used to cherry pickers (MWEPS) and scaffolding etc, within 6 months they had sent me for the BPCA where abouts are you located, let me know, coz our firm may be looking for someone, south of the river
  23. dunno about others, I've only ever caught rabbits, never caught a bag, big or small
  24. got my old grandad to thank for that, got me interested in wood at a young age, I try my best, although sometimes its a bodge-it and leg-it approach comes in handy working with all that mesh too
