  1. All the gamedealers I take them to, want them with guts in... exported to russia no doubt? Probably but must make the meat taste very strong,my farther used to bring loads back from gedney drove end off the sea wall in the 1970s,and hang em in the garage for a week before gutting em,I was never keen on them then, but when we got one off the pit stack with the dogs we would gut it,Immeadiatly to make it easy to carry, these tasted totally different to ones dad got,

I am on my second now, sold my 07 disco 3 and went back to one,my first one we bought 3 yr old with 33,000 on clock sold it with 140,000 on clock and it never put a foot wrong,I changed a clutch and back springs but I did do alot of towing with it,the car is being run by a friend at the moment and still going strong, but that was a W reg and if I am honest it was thirsty,I do change the oil every 5,000 miles religiously, I have just bought a 06 plate with 36,000 miles on,and at moment cant fault it,alot better on fuel and decent off road, dispite haveing crap tyres on, If you get one and servi

  5. It always amazes me when people put emotions around food, we are the only animals that do it,and it is only a small part of the population that do,which makes me pity them, in the sense that it must be a mental illness rather than rational, that makes them think like that, I always try and be polite saying that that is there way of living, and this is mine, if I have to respect there's then they must repect mine, what gets me is when they go into hitler mode and start dictating to me how it is wrong to kill things,
  6. Same here but how many farmers mention the stuff when you speak to them,it seems alot of people used poisen for moles, when it was banned they gave up controling moles,I have the gear to use talunex gas ,which I did for a farmer, who had retired but still owned the land, he said it was cruel to use traps, but havnt used it for ages I do prefer traps alot more skill involved,

  13. You need to go to protrapper.co.uk there are other people, but I am at work at moment so unable to find there names, you can buy em from steve via eBay. he does occasionally contribute on here,he would be the one to ask who the British importers are,
  14. Trapline,Yes mate they do they go up the run either way set in two's very easy to use and very affective, I use em in public areas , ie close to paths, Another good one is the nomoll trap put em in and make a small map so you can refind em and cover em right up,

  18. Thats a bonny animal, you are describing this dog to a tee mate its almost like he can cope, with one person shooting but gets anxious,if they are more he works really well one on one,for me I took him back home to the new forrest, last wk to his owner, and while we were walking him with my too dogs,he started to compeat with them, walking maybee 45 yds in front of the front dog then scenting up wind, his work rate has changed he works really slow and deliberate now, theres definately a line between work and play, I took a roe deer, which ended up in the edge of a small river the dog was superb, sent
  19. Hi can anyone tell me the best way to season hazel sticks, I am at present on the edge of the new Forrest, and I have taken the opportunity, to cut a fare few sticks for making quickset long-nets, normally I would leave them in the shed for twelve months to dry, but would they season quicker in the green house or would they dry too quickly, can I ask how do you do it, what is the best way???
  20. That's Superb thanks for that, I was thinking of using old roses tins, and a 60 wat bulb, having once seen a incubator made in a similar way any advice or ideas are welcome, thanks can I ask if any one knows if rabbit meat can be used, for jerky
  21. Well I seem to have made progress with this dog now, last few days,he has retreived his first duck, squirel, peasant, all shot over him,I think the corners turned, no sign of gun shyness as such maybe a minor change,in his body language but that soon disapears, had him pointing deer this morning then shot a pheasant over him, Generally the dog is starting to work well,on his own and confidence is building,I thought I would take time to update the people who replied, thanks for the advice
  22. My dog is nine month old, but he still is only watching the ferreting nets,he has had a couple of short runs on lamp, but wont get any thing proper till next yr depends on the maturity of the dog, asked the same question myself a lot of conflicting opinions, this is him watching the nets,a job he truely loves
  23. Thers four by me, been in same 5 or 6 field for last few yrs, they are by the motorway and theres a traveller camp near them, but still they prevail,
  24. It would be interesting to see if the colour helped the dogs see it better, good looking net mate,I like the bottom resonably slack mind to follow the ground better, but each to his own, best of luck
