Why graham ?? Other than under pressure, as in not leaving the barrel, or being useless as in ft pound energy delivery, are the obvious pitfalls I see, how do they detonate, I have seen they use powder like red dot as its a better case fill, but it seems people don't spend too much time developing the load,

Winchester Subsonic .22Lr 42G Coefficients
3175darren replied to Tornado1979's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
My BRNO loves Winchester or RWS no difference in them, swap between either and no need to adjust the scope, -
Can I ask, has any of you lads ever loaded subsonic rounds for either 223 or 22 hornet, it's something I have never done, and wondered what loads are out there for the job, or if any of you lads think it's worth doing or not? Let's hear your thoughts good or bad,
-
Lucky man if you find one, the muzzle can be silenced, but the sonic crack of the bullet is a different matter,
-
carnt fault that for customer service,

i didn't but you can, they adapt quickly enough, when training I used to use a horse lung line, and let it drag behind him on the floor, I could stand on it to check him if needs be,

My pointer was a good deer dog, and I used to start him on lead, then remove it a couple of hundred yard into stalk, and he was fine, he would sometimes get in front 5/10 yard but that was it, he would stiffen up on deer, and was very aware of the space around you, he wouldn't trip you even when working close, On Sika he would sit quiet but his coat was too thin for real cold days so he had to wear a vest, wire haired next time I think,

Cheers Tremo, I have zeroed mine today and all is well,

It certainly keeps traps running fast, and smooth! Like any coating on metal, i believe it will prolong the life of whatever you use it on. There are many types of dip, some cheap, some expensive, and some work better than others. I used to use spray paint, but now use a mix of Rustolium and spirits. I find this perfect for my type of trapping. So do you just make up a thin solution of rustoleum, without adding anything else just using thinners,it's a paint I have never tried,

Speed dip is a treatment for dipping traps, to preserve them/ help keep them in good order, as said earlier no one in England do there own, it's all imported from across the pond and expensive, sorry never checked above post when it came in,

I am quite convinced it makes no difference with moles, as I have used traps straight out the box with small adjustments, I am going to try spray/ aerosol waxoil on them at some point, as for other traps I always weather them,

There is something wrong here mate. Get it sent back under warranty. I've had three Photons. I still have two, and only sold the other one because I felt that it wasn't getting enough use. For the money they are absolutely superb. . I converted all mine to the "XTreme" models. This is some of my footage. Tremo can I ask what you did to convert them?? To xtreme models I have yet to buy a t50 and mount, but will shortly ,

what do you mount it on? Mel its on top of my cz452 .22lr , i only ever use subs so recoil isnt an issue , ill use it once or twice and it can be fine(acceptable) , then it can lose zero by 10" - 12" , each time ive tried to convince myself that if i rezero it , itll be ok , its time now that i need to get it sent back before the warranty is out , its a shame because i really like it when its working. Its the first time I have used NV gear, apart from a dabble with a old Russian unit a mate had back in the early 90's which wasn't good, I like, it havnt zerod it yet, had to shim the scope up at

what do you mount it on? Mel

Just doing mine now and it seams good, but putting it on a 223, and will have to initially set at short distance, is it better set at dusk,?????

Motor cars kill a lot of deer every year but i wouldn't buy one with killing deer in mind! so do wagons, wire fences, and hay cutters, funny enough I wouldn't buy one of them for the job either,
-
Well I did say it was my opinion, I stick by it, that 6.5 turnip has killed a lot of deer and does all I need,
-
I think it's a very good round,I have used them since mid 80's but find the 6.5x 55 suits my needs, and a much more pleasant caliber, it really is down to personal preference, 270 is a very good caliber but the swede delivers virtually the same, and more down range, and doesn't have the recoil,
-
I went from .243 to the 6.5x55 in my opinion the best move I've made for a long while in shooting. Really? I cant imagine why, the .243 is faster, flatter shooting, and in my opinion a better one shot killer than the Swede will ever be, yes you can shoot heavier bullets in the Swede, but and it is a big but, at the expense of point and shoot capability, true at a hundred yards or so it matters not, but start pushing 250-300 yards and the Swede is like a .22 air rifle compared to a .177, fine if you know your holdover points, but for me the .243 wins hands down everytime.how many deer do you s

I went from .243 to the 6.5x55 in my opinion the best move I've made for a long while in shooting.thats what I did but also tried the 270, i have fired other calibers, but the 6.5 x 55 does the job, each to his own,
-
I know someone who bought a 6.5x55 on the advice of an "expert", he is now sick as a chip and looking to go back to 25/06. Hardly surprising is it i have had a few calibers and liked them all, however two calibers are mentioned in this post, 22 hornet and 6.5x55, these are the two calibers I love, and use most of the time, if you are ever taking a novice out, or you have a flincher at point of fire, the 6.5x55 is superb, it drops red roe or fallow as good as any caliber, and you always see the bullet strike,
-
Love the 6.5x55 well worth a try, great caliber

My 527 loves the 35 or 40 grn vmax either one, both devastating rounds, I did try some 40 grn hollow points they were good as well, H110 powder,

The hardest thing to do is get the dog to sit quiet, any whine however small is bad, steady is everything, you have to raise them as quiet as you can, nothing worse than seeing the other half having a conversation with your pup, nothing causes whinging more than that, and being too excited, it's caused a few fall outs in my house, in the past.
