    Mate. Wait till you get a good day, and when you get a little more used to your rifle and you will massivly reduce those groups. You are going to have so much fun with that little rifle.

    I dont know why but he seems worried about just grabbing the bunny and not the net. He has never been bitten by rabbit, ferret, dog or anything. Hopefully he grows out of it. He has had a couple of bollockings about it, off camera, but on the other hand I dont want to put him off ferreting.

    Another reason I need a dog, as when we are doing the walls we just have to guess and try them all, many of course are empty. Its good to see you have a ready market for them.

    I use elements and CS2. I keep elements on laptop as a cannot afford CS 5, but it does most things. If I need CS 2, I use my PC. I also use another free one, which name escapes me now, as I am not at home, but that is useful as well. For storage, I use ext hard drives and dvd.

    I agree. Try and shoot up or downwind to get initial zero, and then fine tune on your first still day.

    Looking out towards Skomer Island from the deer park on the Marloes peninsular here in Pembrokeshire, about 5 miles to the west to me. I going to have to get down there with the family for a holiday, I ve heard so many good reports about the Pembroke coastline.

    On thl we have all sorts of threads slagging off police, politicians, sportsmen, dogmen, shooters, marines etc, etc, etc. I am starting to think that society has changed that much, that the bedrock of integrity, honesty, Christianity, professionalism, and family values just appear to be not that important in this day and age. As a parent I am on a constant battle to bring up my kids to have, and understand what it is like to have integrity. And not compromise themselves. The internet is probably one of the biggest influences in this day and age. Just look at some threads on here

    Thanks everybody. Hope all of you with youngsters waiting to start have the same fun. H wants me to show him how to neck them and gut them next vid, so that's what might come next. Obviously I will have to put my hands over his when we neck one, for a clean kill. At least though he should get the feel, of the break, and a feel for the technique.

    So you use 3 needles to knit one net? Are the loomis bulky ? Y.I.S Leeview all fit through a 1 inch ring so why the need to finish with a traditional needle? I do 4'6" nets shaped 18 meshes wide with one 8" needle would a loomis hold that much twine? Y.I.S Leeview the add says it will hold double a tradition needle probably more like 50% more tbh good knows why if you can start on a ring with a full needle then why you carnt finish on an empty one but as ive said i always finish by hand You've lost me mate. Y.I.S Leeview When using a triangle for starting the net, which I sometimes do, then you need to leave a long length of twine to then tie on the ring. I find it easier to use a trad needle to pick up this remaining amount, as I like to keep the loomis needles full. I just find this works for me. If I haven't left a long enough tale to pick up with a needle, then I too have to finish off by hand.

    I use the loomis for the start and main body, but a trad netting needle for tying off bottem ring when using a triangle. The loomis generally holds more twine.

    He's got over it and I've stopped laughing! One strange thing we have noticed though, but I am sure it is a coincidence, is that all the losses were from shop bought nets, and not the hand made dayglo ones!!

    All my jills are small. Not out of choice thats just the way they are. They have no problems getting the bunnies to bolt in my opinion and kill rarely underground, which is what I want. There are quite a few times were they are stationary for several minutes, but then a bunny will bolt with chewed eyeballs. I accept this is usually where the bunny is backed up, but I think larger stronger ferrets would more than likely kill a lot more.
