    A lad i know has a lurcher bitch that is very good at killing feral wild cats on her own, that are a pest to the gun club that are trying to rare pheasents for release. But, when it comes to foxes, if the lurcher is on her own.she will have a go at the fox, but will not kill it and let go when the fox bites back, with another dog, she kills them well.! Strange one, as i would of thought, the feral cats would do more damage?? cheers.

    was out a few years ago lamping for rabbits with my lurcher in co. sligo and heard a shot right near me and the sound of shotgun pellets hitting the hedge right next to me...sent the hairs on me neck standing! i ran like feck and got back to the van safely! as i had no perimssion on the land i did not challange the farmer, but, reported it to the guards (irish police), they came back out with me and found out who's land it was, the bollix that shot at me had his gun taken off him and got a caution from the guard, he should of been done for attempted fecking murder the c**t!! over here in Irel

    Blueone, I understand there were some problems in 2010 at Birr with some persons, who it was claimed were travellers, hassling a few people about selling their dogs. This hassle was verbal only and not at all physical. Unfortunately it was not reported to our stewards, our security or the garda present or indeed us as organisers, until after the event. So obviously we could do nothing about it. It was not widespread at the fair and appeared to be limited to a small number of incidents around the terrier & lurcher ring.     not sure if i will be going to Birr this year, was not impressed with it the year before last, with all the travellers that hasselled me and my wife with our dogs! at one point i thought they would take our dogs off us! heard last years event was better, prehaps i might go, not sure though?

    I put in the miles aswell but no where in Ireland would you get the land to get that much work and they where not crabed by me that is great work the lads put in and as i said to them fairplay lads spot on. Ireland is sparsely populated with bunnys compared to a lot of parts in the uk and it would be, if ever, a once in a lifetime thing, to get that many here, most likely with only a few dogs..lol great going lads, fair play.

    Smashing dogs L300 and it seems they did the biz when needed. Nice 1 Blue 1 the black dog is still at it and i'l be out to look for a few foxes in the morning so he might get a chance to get his teeth around something good stuff , how yea get on this morning. ? anymore of that breeding around? Not many round like that. We got a fox this morning but i left the old dog at home and brought 1 of my wheaten x bitchs,there was enough dogs with what the other lads brought with them aswell ,so the show pony came out for a walk LOL .     A good greyhound vet will tell you exactly what to do Jigsaw, your best bet in my opinion. Or if you visit any greyhound track, their is usually a bone mad their, that will also helpfull.
