Beautiful part of the coast mate, especially this time of year when most of the Grockles have buggered off! lol -
Seen one in Ibiza when I was 19, getting excited about spotting a bird as a youngster on the piss and pull meant i got a bit of stick off my mate out clubbing later that night....worth it though lol Never seen one in the UK, would be made up if I did

Fished the tidal Exe yesterday, fishing from top of the tide down. This is a funny place but holds loads of fish from roach, dace, chub to mullet, bass. Sea trout and salmon and loads of wid brown trout.. some days you can have a proper mixed bag.. Got there at 9am which was top of the tide, so fished the feeder whilst I waited for the tide to drop, not one bite! Moved to another swim...same result... no idea what was going on.. Moved another 3 times and fished the stick float with maggot, just didn't want a blank on what is my water lol.. Eventually caught a small brownie

I know an old lad that lost the end of 2 fingers to a sheet that slipped down the wall as we was sorting the bottom sheet, I also dropped a tek gun on his head from 2 lifts up, (old fashioned big heavy gun) put him on his knees, I was pretty young 21 maybe, he was in his late forties then.. f**k he kicked off... I couldn't breathe for laughing. When we first started on the steels we walked the lot, up over the rafters etc, no machines (lots on farm jobs) looking back we were mad to do it, no nets under the roofs which is compulsory now, the first job I ever had nets on was a massive unit

Comes with the territory in our game, but I'll be honest and say over the last few years I think a load more about heights than I ever did, getting older I suppose. Been up in all sorts from man baskets on the end of crane (with a twat of an old steel erctor swinging it when we were 100ft in the air for a laugh, not funny) , to the biggest mobile cherry picker you can drive yourself, we needed it to go out and over a building not for the height but the reach.. but being younger me and my brother thought we'd take it in the middle of the car park and take it to the top height (think it was

Brilliant mate!! Any idea what these are? They were growing on the gravel beside the cottage. -
Oh yeah mate, i think about stuff like that all the time here.. My Mrs took her patents on a guided tour of Castle Drogo, it's a national trust place about 5 miles from us, the most modern proper castle in England...during the tour the guide asked my wife where she lived, when she said the village she new our house abd went on to give quite a lot of info about the place and how interesting historically it is...Mrs got a bit embarrassed, but yeah it's mad to think what has been seen in this house, there is priest hole in one of the walls back to Oliver Cromwell times...
-
The cellar on this place is dated to 1054..started as a saxon long house ..pretty much something been done every century since (apart from wall paper) lol... It's a quest, or a labour of love..im not sure which yet lol
