If you look on HM Customs & Excise website all the information can be found there.

Sorry to hear that, been there also, atleast you knew what was wrong and can then remedy it ready for the next time. Could have well been that there were foxes about and thats why it was quiet? I know your guns are new, however, make sure you take the stock off and give all the metal work a good wipe down plus the wood, then when its all dried out reassemble. Best of luck with oyur next session. Mark

So where has the BASA thread gone that was started by Supermole Oh....wait.... I get it, he posts a load of rubbish - Again, people pick up on it - Again, and wade in to put him straight - Again, then when he tries to explain away his error by digging himself a hole he makes things worse - Again, then he throws his toys out of the pram - Again, and moans to a moderator to pull the thread - Again, because its made him look a fool - Again. Grow up Mike.

What a lovely write up mate, well done, have a point and glad the pellets got used. -
Hide yourself well and keep movememnt to a minimum, find their favourite trees for sitting in, find where they sleep and kill them in or close to the nests. Get an owl decoy, get one with the biggest shiniest eyes you can and place it near to their favourite areas and nests, they will go ballistic attacking the owl and you can drop them when they land. As my mate Phantom says body shots are a no=no as they have tough ribs and wings, I have found neck shots are just as good as head shots as the impact trauma is massive and they drop just as quick. if there a lots and I mean hundreds o

Right Tyler, heres my post for you to re-read and see if it says anything about a hare crossed with a rabbit? This 'fluffy' creature had me thinking the same thing a while back and the same comments of 'its a rabbit',however the back feet measured a whopping 13cm and the legs were much longer than rabbits etc also the ears were a little longer and thinner, the coat wasnt as coarse as a hare but nowhere near as smooth as a rabbit. All in I reckon its a crossbreed and perhaps thats what Gary has got too. Oh yea thats right it doesnt, what it says is a crossbred hair or a cross bred r

Great thread, fantastic when the dog section gets bored, by the way can someone come and put a lead on Tyler and get him out of the airgun section. Carry on

Fantastic and glad to have been a help.

Youre welcome Carl and its nice to be able to trust people, before you go to shop or send the chrono back double and double check the pellet weight you have entered, as It was set for air arms field diablos in .22 at 16.3gr. If all was good then Im glad you got it sorted and no need to sweat about being over the limit mate, I guess they will chrono it again at the shop before they hand it back to you with a new spring. All the best bud Mark

what Pelllets?
markha replied to H U N T E R--B O Y's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Dont buy a 'Hat-stand' spend your hard earned cash on a proper rifle, almost any other rifle is better. -
Highly infectious and deadly to humans if left untreated mate, if you have gutted these rabbits without wearing latex gloves you are in serious risk, get to a doctor. Mortality rate is up to 20% in humans. I always wear surgical gloves when gutting animals whether thats in the field or on the slab at home as its better to be safe than very Ill.

Time for homework then Millsy, loads of it on the net, I havent bothered with FAC air as .22lr with subsonic ammo and a silencer will do the job and then its HMR and/or CF territory. Simon if you find out what calibres your permission is passed for and its good for HMR Ill bring mine up and you can have a field test

Tyla, On the lamp, night vision, mistake! get back to the lurcher section where if it bolts its fair game for your dogs regardless of what it is! Sorry if your not like that at all, however its a big brush and your gona get tared. The guys on here know their stuff, it wasn't a debate about whether its a hare or rabbit except for its size, like wise my pic from last year, there are anomalies in nature and I'm sure both pictures show them. Nice one Darryl, yea, clean humane kill regardless and Im sure Gary knows how to identify quarry species correctly whether on the lamp or with NV.

Carl, It went 1st class recorded yesterday. All the best Mark

Im going to step in here and add this to the mix: This 'fluffy' creature had me thinking the same thing a while back and the same comments of 'its a rabbit',however the back feet measured a whopping 13cm and the legs were much longer than rabbits etc also the ears were a little longer and thinner, the coat wasnt as coarse as a hare but nowhere near as smooth as a rabbit. thinking of a bigger game calibre

Yup he's right Slower and big is better than faster and bigger - heavier loads going initially faster slow down much faster and lose more retained energy quicker than a slower heavy round. -
HW100 new regulator signbificant power loss.
markha replied to Rich91's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
You dont need to run a regulator in, it either does, or doesnt do its job. Take gun back and get it fixed. -
Well I had a chat with the guy today, nice bloke, so Im just going to give some good old fashioned trust and post tomorrow. Keep it till you are happy with your ftlbs mate and then post back, hope you get it fixed as cheaply and simply as possible. Cheers Mark

First Time FAC - Advise me please.
markha replied to erm171292's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
To be honest your CCF shooting experience, no dissreespect intended, means jack mate as you know, otherwise you wouldnt be asking for advice on how to prove 'a proven need for a firearm' (its strange as the Home Office Guidelines do infact actually use the word 'desire to own a firearm' as being not a good enough reason) to your local FEO. Have you got land where you have written permission to shoot over it for rabbits, foxes, corvids etc? As without that you dont have a chance unless you join a target shooting club. So a few options for you: Just pay to hunt and pay to hire guns - j -
Hi there, Right mate, I dont know you at all, however I am willing to lend you my chrony and Ill post it to you. The catch is you will need to give me your debit card details to keep as a security deposit - and yes I have a card machine as I run a business all legal and above board. Deposit would be £100, so basically if you nick my chrono Il debit your card with £100. Now if other well known members on here also know you then Im happy to lend my chrono to you for just the cost of postage. Cant say fairer than that.

As Dan says, but to be honest unless you get through to the actual FEO and not the office staff you might come up against a lack of knowledge. If the convictions have been spent ie more than 5 years ago then I would just go ahead and apply; If you have current speeding convictions like 35 in a 30 or similar then I wouldnt sweat it. If you have any kind of public affray, asbo, drunk in charge or even the pettiest of charge for violence in the last 5 years then the chances start to slim down and with good cause too. There have been guys who have posted similar questions to yours in the past

The head keeper is 17? This wouldnt be anything to do with Jono and the Bodeaun shoot would it?
-
Where in Wales are you? Get you senior keeper, owner of the shooting rights to write you a reference and balls to how long they may have held a firearms licence, if they have been issued with one then they have been deemed to be a suitable person with a legitimate need to own a firearm. You need to brush up on the firearms act and bits of other relevant law, all this can be found on the BACS website even if your not a member as its all in public domain. In the meantime I would get back intouch with your FEO and get him to go ahead with your application for 22RF and possibly 17HMR? And

Hawke Side Winder Tactical and AAS410 combination?
markha replied to gollum's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I can't comment on light transmission compared to the 3-9x50 HD as I havent had one, what I can say is the optics are as bright as my £200 Bushnell 3x9x40 which is very good glass. So to have a scope with more mag and more lenses in it and still be as clear as a lower powered scope is going some. I used to lamp with it on its lowest zoom setting and it was OK. Oh and the supplied sidewheel is 2" and has more than enough room to mark all ranges on it, if you went any bigger you would not be able to get the magazine out without going to much higher mounts.
