  1. Couldnt agree more, rod is best, but there are times a pull through saves the day ( yes i have used mine for a walking stick )
  2. Just a thought,,,,,, check your rims are true and not been nicked by the extractor, if the chamber is tight and the brass soft ( rims usualy are ) pulling them out could have put a slight high spot so making the case longer, even when measured if you dont get the caliper dead on the extractor contack spot it wouldnt show up but would tighten the bolt
  3. If crown wear is a prob or worry when useing a snake, its not rocket science to make a nylon end cap to fit mod thread so the snake or rod cant go off line on the pull through. when useing a rod youd use a chamber plug to guide the rod as you push the rod ,,,, so if pulling a snake or pull through you guide it at the other end
  4. Are you going to be walking a lot or sat in a hide,,, in a hide auto or pump,,,, if walking the best side x side you can afford. Pumps and autos tend to be a bit heavy if your lugging it around all day, but are great at soaking up recoil when sat in the hide,,, the SxS is much lighter but kicks a little more,,,, horses for courses my mate
  5. I just had a thought,,, yes it hurt lol,, Would i get my .40 cap and ball rifle on ticket for fox, it has the punch and the ammo is cheap as chips
  6. The word has been pasted around Halesowen and Frankley,,,, if we hear anything will let you know
  7. Mine works fine with 28g,30g 32g and 3" mags,,, tend to use 30g most. If you do buy one keep the mag tube clean and wet keep a film of oil on the outside of the tube, stops the crap from the gas port building up,,, this crap buggers the O ring and helps gum up the works. Ive found mine to be just as good as my old Reminton 1100.......... For an all round gun id go for a PROPA GUN, 28" SidexSide Ejector, if funds will stretch a sidelock,,,

I use the German Flecktarn stuff in gortex, cheap hard wearing and it works, the trousers are cut big with good lenth zips so you can put them on OVER boots or wellies built in bracers, as for the cold i use a motorcyclist thermal under suit. Boots Jack Pike 9 hole in green,, had them 3 years,, no issuses,, cheap light warm and waterproof
  10. How about a full name and addy " Name and Shame"
  11. If he pulled that stroke around here he'd be eating through a straw
  12. 2 rules to follow,,,, 1, Put the muzzels on ( dont mount the gun early, gun needs to be in shoulder the last 10% of the swing. point with the barrels as you close on the bird from behind bring the gun up) 2, Keep the swing going, ( dont stop as you fire, use the barrels like a paintbrush and brush them through the bird as day light appears squeeze one off ,,,, DONT stop to look if you hit it ,,, keep swinging if it aint fallen double lead and tap again ) See lots of young and not so young clay shooters starting the shot with the gun UP , bad idea in the field you have to look for your
  13. All i use in mine for fox is Alphamax BB or the odd 2 3/4 mag in BB both kill clean at 50yards, with shot of BB or above one pellet is all you need, the Alphas give a good even pattern,, i did try 3" with AAA too big too many holes in pattern
  14. I used to fish Tenby a lot a few years ago, did well for mullet. What i used was 1oz lead hard on the bottom, 24/36" bottom to 3 way swivel, size 8 freshwater hook on a 12" snood, chunks of mackeral about the size of sweetcorn... place i fished was just along the path under the castle,, where the steps are,,, fished that rig hard againds the rocks, from mid tide up,, but on night tides.. another good spot was Giltar point, float fish sand eel on a long trace seemed to find a bass or 3 when the tide is running hard.
  15. The Regimental tie helps and get your hair cut you horrid little man
  16. Back cover and movement are the key,,,, a good back drop stops you being shilloetted. I use a ordinary light weight net as a back drop and a ghillie suit, dont bother with a front net unless the hedges and bushes are leafless. good camo helps the best ive found is the German FLECKTARN pattern, very good very cheap and hard wearing and the gortex stuff is water resistant
  17. I have the 3" in mossey oak, its never missed a beat in 18 months its fired well over 10,000 32g loads, and about 300 full 3" magnums for the foxes,,,, secret is to keep the outside of the mag tube WET always wipe with an oilly rag,,, the dirt from the gas ports builds up this wears the O ring which means it will leak or break, its every bit as good as the Remington 1100
  18. a French 88 loaded with grapeshot lol lol only joking
  19. 28/30 Doesnt much matter the important thing is PATTERN. A good even pattern will put more pellets into the target, with 6 or 7 shot you need 3 to 4 pellets for a sure knockdown, drop to 5 shot and you can do the same with one pellet. I use 30g 6s fibre wad in improved choked barrel and 28g 5s in the 1/2 choke gives me 2 good even patterns at two ranges the 6s up to 30yards the 5s for anything after that..... and just remember the best ever game cartridge was and is Eley IMPAX a 28 or 1oz load, as most people shoot with game guns then i think a game cartridge makes a good match
  20. Hi, Not easy to get them to stand still long enough for a shot with an airgun..... first MOVEMENT thats the key keep as still as you can, a bit of camo net will help there.. A better bet is the roost and sitty trees, dont sit under them but a few yards away in a hedge or behind a bail or 2, as for decoys id put a couple of lofters in the tree and sit and wait... now a little tip,, if you watch a pigeon sit in a tree you will notice that if hes stood on a branch ( you can see his legs ) he is looking around and will keep moving his head,, wait till he SITS on the branch ( cant see legs ) then h
