  1. Our oldest bitch was bang on 25" at 6 months, she ended up a fraction under 29". also all pups grow at different rates, my lad's pup who's similarly bred, but with more greyhound in him, is just under 26" at 9 1/2 months. At 5 months he was 2o". Especially with lurchers, it's hard to predict eventual size, even knowing the size of both parents
  2. Seen this when it was first shown, classic, and maddy prior's hauntingly beautiful voice is perfect
  3. different litter, though just as barking f***ing mad!
  4. couldn't believe what I was reading! Better than 'PATTERPUGS'!
  5. Litter of 'WHOODLES' in pets4homes, 'accidental' mating of miniature poodle and whippet, lol a snip at only £550 each! FAAAACK OOORFF!!
  6. Did go with a couple of others years ago, very rarely now. If I do go with someone else it'll only be my son, and then that'll mostly be with the rifles. I'm a pretty unsociable twat most of the time, and I trust no-one when it comes to permission, plus the hassle of hoyking an idiot and their badly trained mutt along with you aint worth the hassle
  7. Fair play mate, if you give it out though you got to take it as well, young or old Both fair points, but I just don't see the point or need to run a pup with another dog, when it's starting, causes more grief/hassle than anything else, also just my opinion
  8. There are some lads out there that most guys on here would help and encourage, but not many, given the stroppy, smash everything attitude of alot of lads getting into dogs these days. It takes common sense and empathy for your dog, to bring it on steadily and sensibly, without running it at everything that moves, or wanting to 'smash' everything! It takes a thick skin to put up with the abuse you'll get off people after you've ruined your youngster by adopting the tactics I mentioned!
  9. Aye, he's heard it said, but his reply to me was not of an understanding or friendly nature, more a statement along the lines of 'why does some thick c**t think you need a running dog to teach another running dog how to run!? But alot less friendly!
  10. Forgot to metion, over the river earlier with dogs and lad, and mentions this pilot caper to him, well f**k me with a rubber duck, he's heard of it too! .............
  11. he claims to know it it all giving advice to lurcher owners twice his age that have been in the game years when the lad knows f**k all about f**k all this is why he gets stick and because he is a COCK A tad harsh that mate, oh hang on, is it the guy that was calling your dog tripod etc!? If it is then yep, COCK!
  12. Don't think it's bully boy tactics, just some of the members having a bit of banter, especially some of us older cnuts . And no, it's not a good idea to start a youngster off with an older dog, more likely to wind the pup up than teach it anything worthwhile, now get a f****n g grip! , only joking
  13. kin el, that's one of the least 'prey drive driven' looking dogs I've clapped eyes on!
  14. Yes, interesting to hear other people's views on it, I'll go with 'jargon', easier to get my head around!
  15.  f****n belter!! Trying to write this with tears rolling down my face!!
  16. Lol, yeah I suppose it's a bit of hard work defining it simply. I see a few different qualities/attributes in a dog, and sometimes struggle to find words to describe them, as an example, I'll be out with my lad, 23, and the dogs, and he'll make some remark about em, and it'll be the same thing we mean but worded differently, probably just different way of describing stuff these days, cos I certainly never heard half of what he says when I was his age lol
  17. Is 'prey drive' the same thing as hunting instinct? Genuine question
  18. Yes I must admit pilot dog threw me a bit but didn't like to say and get ripped a new asshole on here  Lol I know certain things like prey drive are self explanatory, but 'pilot dog', yeah a cracker!
  19. Pilot dog, smashing, prey drive, 'teeth', kin el, I can't keep up with all of today's gibberish! I'm glad I'm an old cnut!
  20. I enjoy watching the dogs eat, besides feeling satisfied that they're getting good nutrition, I find it very theraputic
  21. Just had a read of that, hmmmm? .................. DOOMED! The lot of us, DOOOMED!!
