  1. Made the best choice there. Tried both of the a couple of weeks ago(until the bloke brought the air ranger out from the back of the shop) Did not like the ultra one bit. S200 Mk3 was a lovely bit of kit though. Well done Enjoy
  2. Vasectomised Hob, every time. Not keen on the jab. But it must be said, If you "cant be bothered breeding them" then why did you get jills?? If you had given it some thought, then you wouldn`t be on here asking questions you should have thought about way before getting them, and certainly way BEFORE they come into season.
  3. Hi Hobnob. Any chance of some info on this. Where? how much etc etc. Cheers
  4. I dont know it all either!! If it has been tried before with no joy then ,fair play I will try and get more answers put in to peoples questions. I would imagine that the type of questions I am on aboot will stop as the summer progresses. I have seen the stickys work on other forums but I have to say ,they never had half as much traffic as this place. The sheer number of users here probably means that the questions will get repeated regardless.
  5. Hi all Being relatively new to the forum I was keen to get involved with some off the discussions on here, but, At this time off year it is a never ending run off the same queries about ferrets that are in season and what to do with them and it makes wading through them to find an interesting topic much more weary. Now,, before anyone jumps on me, I fully understand that people need to find the info they require and I admit to being lazy in replying to them after the first couple . So with this in mind , should we have a big bold sticky to explain the ins and out to new ferret folk a
  6. Day stat air ranger 177 . silenced barrel is pretty effective and with an additional silencer its rendered invisble !!
  7. Brother in law worked a beardy half cross from Hancock. No idea if it was from working stock and his place was a bit of a mess but it put meat on the table for years that mutt!! superb dog that trained well and worked hard all its days. Its what you put in the dog that makes the difference (presuming it has no obvious faults) If you get it I hope you enjoy it
  8. Deben Hawke Nite Eye And spend the change on wine!!
  9. Keep an eye out and you will see rabbits 24hrs a day. What suits them one day may not suit them the next. If I have any free time I get out there, no matter what time it is .If your not there you won`t shoot them . Saying that, a good technique is to get yoursell settled looking on to a burrow at dusk and snipe the wee buggers as there heading out.
  10. The brushes should be fine. I used them on my Tika t3 with no ill effects,,only a clean barrel! The brush is softer than the barrel so should not even scratch it.
  11. I once set up a Diana 52 that ,while being chrono`d , dieseled and put out 78 foot pounds. I`m sure if you poured a little oil down the barrel etc etc
  12. Aye Yeh Done that now. Went out with it this morning to look at a new permission and bagged a rook and a woodie while standing next to the car!. First kill with a 177. Knocked them clean out of the tree! Well impressed. This will make me think about whether to FAC it or not. There are some that say, once its on ticket it cant come back off again. Not sure if this is correct or not but think it probably depends on individual forces.(L&B are great). Wouldnt mind chatting with someone who has went down this road or indeed with a tuner who could do the work. Anyway whatever I decide
  13. Aye Spoke to Daystate today about upping the power on my airranger, Was quite expensive tho (190 odd quid) plus a bigger bottle at 55 quid. Seems a lot for changing two V/V parts. Still thinking about it tho. Very impressed with the gun so 18fp is tempting. 3 or 4 week turnaround as well. May look into independant tuners.
  14. Totally cruel and illegal (unneccesary suffering) And rightly so. Indian takeaway near me offered 25 quid a pheasant if it was alive for them to kill it Halal !!!!!!!!! Never happened like,, told them why annaw.
  15. You cant get the boxes serviced by Deben thats for sure !! They are great but have to say I moved to the Mk3M and its superb.
  16. Bloody horrible what folk can do eh!! You`r just along the road from me mate. I`ve taken in a few ferrets in desperate states. Usually folk that get them as a pet and are then too scared to go near them. Well done getting that lot better tho.
  17. Had one for my lad while bck, nice gun ,shot well. I would get it,you will probably enjoy it at that price thats for sure. Was impressed with the stock, very nice
  18. yup just bought a semi auto , used it.loved it and sold my o/u Rizzini to fund my Daystate. Very happy with the semi and will use it for everything. If an invite to a bird day gets retracted due to me using a s/a then they can shove it up their somewhere oh and it`s camo
  19. Well ,, wee visit to Borders gun room today, out went an old shotgun ,a Mk1 TX 200 and a webley eclipse and in came a Daystate Air Ranger SB 177 oooohhhhhhh!!!! its luverly. Anybody got one?? verdicts, mods, tips etc all welcome. Photos soon Very Very indebted to the wife ! ha ha ha
  20. Welll done lass Just been watchin her oan the Jonathon Ross show How fast is she!!! Good stuff
  21. You know, I`ve never thought of feeding my ferrets the mice I catch in my traps.! Dont know why ,but I probably will now. Wee change for them I suppose.
  22. Yup There is nothing wrong with her. I put mine on dry food a few years back an it`s great. they still get meat every now an again which they enjoy but one or two have preffered the dry food only. Shes not a vegetarian tho cause the dry food has animal products in it. meat protien and such like. Cheers
