    My RFD is struggling with lots at the mo.Had to go to scone palace to get high velocity rimmies and took the oppertunity to get remington subs on sale as well cause you can struggle to find them at the best of times. Moved onto federal 243 as winchester superX are too hard to find at the mo.

    Ey up and welcome. have to say, I used 22 for years and years, very succesfully as well!. Then I bought a Daystate Air ranger in 177 and was completely blown away by how accurate it was ,how hard it hit , basically just how lethal the bloody thing was.. As with anything shooting, it is all about shot placement and ,I know some will beg to differ, with a 177 that seems much easier to achieve. Whatever you get it`s all about being competent and confident enough to hit tha kill zone time and time again. i am sure you will succeed whatever you decide but these are just my thoughts on the matter

    Hawke nite Eye 4-16x50 ao ir. 40 quid of fleabay in perfect nick but they are well within your budget . Cracking scope on my air rifle ,,well pleased with it. ATB

    Aye Deffinatley found the muck boots a lot heavier than the Aigles, kind of why I thought they would be better for beating.

    Hi Just bought Aigle Parcours iso (around 100 quid) superb. Another is the Muck boot range (60 bucks or so) The second would probably stand up to beating a bit better than the fancy french ones (I just wanted to look good) :kiss:

    Aye Can you elaborate a bit ! I have heard of the guts being fired out of a Parker Hale rimmy silencer but that was because the end was loose. Would like to hear all about this as I have just fitted a P8 to my P/H 243.

    Hi I have had an Ase Utra on my 243. Worked great but will not come apart, very quiet though. I now have a Wildcat Predetor 8 on a 243.works great(not sure if it`s as quiet as the ase ) It does come apart for cleaning which makes life a bit easier. You can still clean the ase though, it just doesnt`t split. ATB

    Looks like a typical FC ripoff as far as I can tell. 9k +vat for 70 head. Nah! dinnae think so This is the reason that stalking is outside the remit of the average working bloke nowadays. After calling a few places and offering help with the cull(which they had to get done) in order to further my experience , I gave up after repeated requests for 250 quid a stalk !! for hinds, carcass to the estate etc. I would love to further my stalking but not at the current prices. If you have your own stalking then count yourself very lucky and keep a good hold of it.

    Aye Box for sure. Bags are an outdated and dodgy way to be carrying around a live animal in. Especially an animal that your meant to be caring for and expecting to work for you. Think on it this way,, what would you prefer to be toted aboot in ??

    Aye Eclipse, and they are cracking guns. Just traded mine against the daystate and even on trade I got the thick end of 200 quid for it.

    Aye Chudleys and whole rabbits. Cannae beat it. When the Jills got kits I suppliment with some eggs and cat milk (lactose free) and chicken,liver,beef,grapes,apples,oranges,bannana and anything else they seem to like.

    Aye Got the Parker Hale 243 1200 safari zeroed in today. Got the new wildact P8 on it and I was well pleased with it. Shoots nice and smooth. Moderator is a cracker. whole lot was under 300 quid as well so even happier as I`m Scottish Only bugger was I am using a Niko Sterling gold crown (pretty shite) and the adjustment turrets are marked up to adjust POA instead of POI ,,,,,cost me 3 shots that !! 1" groups at 95 mtrs Happy happy.

    Aye The bushes are dirt cheap and screw out by hand in a nanosecond. If different inserts were available it would save you a pretty penny like.

    Aye And he`s a proper Mod as well, Couple of scooters and mates with Weller. Top bloke, cyclings the only sport I watch, drives the wife nuts.

    Hi I have a wildcat predator 8 on mine. Used to have an ase utra on my last 243 Is the T8 available with different inserts ?? one mod for both rifles perhaps ??

    Any ferret could be a good ratter. The only way to find out is to try it. Dont know off any line bred for rat though.
