There would never be a winner. If they hadn't shot it and it killed the child there would be outrage it wasn't shot. It's a captive gorilla it's dead. Who really cares they have another 9 to show Pretty much how I see it. I'd have felt a hell of a lot sadder if it decided to smash the wee boy of the ground like a bit bamboo. Amazing THL so it is. I'd quite understand the debate on some lunatic vegan page but I do struggle to get my head around the debate on here. Most of us have no problem pulling the trigger whether it be to put food on the table, vermin control or trophy hunting but we can't agree on that the safety of a child comes first. Unreal!!!

Would like to see some of the folk worried about the gorilla be calm in that situation. If there was a gun handy id be shooting it myself if that was my wee boy...no debate!!! It's a shame that the gorilla had to die....but it did. Now the Zoo gets bollocked for a parents mind slip. Shit all round!!!

If your judging zoos through the eyes of a human then I can see no problem. If you start thinking like the animal then your slightly off your rocker. You've no idea if a Zebra would rather have less room to roam or be glad that nothing was coming to eat it every minute of every day.

Funny you mention this.......ive always said if I won lots of dosh, serious dosh I'd do the obvious like buy house, cars, holidays, bit of daft fun, sort out friends and family....sort out the Royal Sick Kids hospital up here. But the one thing I'd really like to do is take about 100k and stick it in my pocket. Dress like a tramp and try and hitch a lift. First person to give me a lift takes the money.

Have you...that's interesting. I'm say 30 mins east of that so maybe there is a possibility that they are getting further down. Few years back if I had the chance I'd have shot it as it could have been a disaster to have it around the rearing field. Now I don't it's perfectly safe and I'd quite like to see it.

Not sure of exact dates but I'd say around 8/9 years ago my neighbour says to me he's seen a Pine Marten running about. I dismissed it as we don't have them down this way. Few weeks later I see it for myself.....? Then I never saw it again. Back then we were surrounded in unkept thick forestry so an ideal place for it but I did wonder how it got here. Last few years most of the forestry has either blown or is (and still is the now) being felled. The other day my neighbour says he's seen another one. Can't get my head around it. Possibly being let loose????

I never heard they did that. I'd imagine as a lifelong fan they would be taking a bit memorabilia home with them?? What's wrong with that?? Apart from some of the more deluded fans out there most know what position/level of football your club should be at. So if your one of the 'recognised' big 4 in the EPL you should be contesting that every season, along with cups and European football. As a fan that pays for season tickets and actually goes to the games they should be allowed to ask the questions if they think there are things wrong at there club......whether that is not spending money on new players or changing the under achieving management.
