You know the voice I mean neck not to be confused with the barman voice of authority ????
-
I’ve always found what works for me is take full advantage of a pups ability to want to follow you that when it stops to have a sniff or look about recall it get the recall going then once the pups getting the hang of coming back to you on call then start to teach retrieve as after all a retrieve is a extension on recall my 14week old pup will retrieve a few different items she goes completely nuts at the sight of a tennis ball so that’s our object of choice at the moment she’s retrieved a few different type dummies all in play to me so far including a weighted rabbit pelt dummy I’ve not tried

I think your right mate my first impression was someone had got a bit excited An recited the writings of a bummer book
-
I don’t think even in the modern bedlingtons they have much control over size as it’s up an down in size I know a guy that used to have a straight bedlington at 20tts that he used to lamp for novelty it used to do alright for a bit of fun
-
Most bedlingtons are talked up by enthusiast or breeders of kc bedlingtons most are not what there made out to be don’t be gullible in going on someone’s word alone that there good get to see them work first be it bushing bedlington, fox dog,or ferreting bedlington after all your trying to produce decent dogs you need the best ingredients in the melting pot not no names in a kc dog

With my pup I don’t do all that much distance to be fair I’m growing her on a bit first.Iwalk her round a couple of fields if it’s her on her own (bretty decent size fields round here)then get her back home I don’t have her off the lead when I’m out with the other bitch as the other bitch finds stuff pretty regular if it’s there she’ll find it an I don’t want the pup thinking she should run gear yet I don’t also have the pup of the lead when the older bitch as a rule as I’m not a fan of watching really young pups chasing after older dogs as they push there selfs trying to catch them I mean sur

How much is to much it’s a question always in my head as it’s a easy thing to over do being keen to be out an about with the dogs having the pup/pups tag along to kill two birds with one stone an all that

Never give mine cooked bone but nothing is waisted in our house scraps go to the dogs cooked chicken carcasses get boiled bones removed then the stock gets given to the dogs

I’d eat it no problem black neck don’t fancy the biscuits though I eat little processed food
-
I used to feed 50/50 I’d done so for years never had no problem doing so it was always the cheapest raw I could get my hands on plenty of rabbit an road kill deer dogs were always fit an healthy to do the job but that was when I was low payed An struggling to make ends meet not a lot as changed bar I’m comfortable now money wise I feed 75% raw an 25% biscuit as it suits me an the dogs this is my pups breakfast

Not with my little arms you wouldn’t ?I’d spend more time trying to get it from grazing field to field than riding the machine

Can’t beat a good gin black neck??
-
Mines a gin an juice.... hold the collie to much spoils the drink ??
-
I’ll give you a honest opinion why your f1 collie x hasn’t been used bird Because your not a lying c**t! you’ve been honest as they come you’ve layed all cards on the table you’ve gave your honest opinion on his merits an disappointments in a fair truthful grading of your dog with no bull shit to big the dog up to pimp him out. It’s a shame really your dog as a lot to offer a Lurcher to Lurcher breeding especially to a bedlington x magic really happens when these 2crosses are combined a good all round traditional hunting dog that’s adaptable day&night it definitely irons out the niggly bit

Unbelievable bits of kit I’d love to treat my self to one but funds don’t allow me to plus we’re I’m at it’d be not to good as it’s all gated land not like we’re I was living before all open land no gates you could go for miles
-
That’s a cheap one dan look at the bomber good shout though
-
Up every thing mate exercise wise be more careful on there diet get my self fit an eat clean as the dogs eat
-
Enjoy ya pup lad train ya pup well get some experience give the dog plenty of action in the field first worry of another dog further down the road no point in over doging your Sen being to keen
-
So I’ve heard ?? didn’t have no trouble with mine I’m guessing it’s more a heavy collie base thing that makes them pick an choosers or old age being clever and wise
-

Might as well just get a decent racey bred Wheaton or bedlington cross??
-
If the deerhound greyhound was still producing the goods more people would use them definitely a restricted cross in there uses what can they bring to the table that a lurcher to lurcher hasn’t got in hand though in my eyes there just a ingredient that gets put in the melting pot to create useful Lurchers for a bit of everything
