  1. Mate your gunner have to start sniffing glue or something or getting on the lighter gas we need to know what bills on about I think if there’s a man that could decode the speakings of bill your definitely the man for the job ????
  2. Mate not even I can help you out here An I speak fluently in bill ? I my self was lost at the gate maybe black neck or shaaark could translate for us or failing that there’s a story going about that Ketchum speaks bill but don’t know how true it is
  3. Crazy ain’t it. This lads stuff wasn’t out of the same as northerns guys stuff think the lad who bred this lads dog was a welsh guy who keeps a line funny how the same colouring pops up in two separate guys lines
  4. Think if I ever breed again in the future when I need replacements I’m going to keep it tight with the bedlington xs I’m thinking aunt to nephew as a very likely possible
  5. Thought so mate ??Strong looking animal ??I’ve seen this colouring pop up a few times with line breeding bedlington xs there was a lad on the bedlington group that had a rough coat line bred bedlington greyhound same colour people were saying can’t be genuine x got to have saluki in it to get that colouring ??
  6. Nice looking dog ??Unusual colouring is he a line bred 3/4 greyhound 1/4 bedlington or a straight 3/4 bred northern?
  7. It was lovely mate I didn’t have my own dogs at the time I used to get out with a family member An his dogs regularly it was a lovely site to see them crossing a big field while we looked on an viewed them while holding dogs bred for fox work shame about the hunting ban though I’m sure if a ban wasn’t in place them dogs would of been slipped ???Tell me about it fella crazy as bat shit people out there but long as there happy I suppose whatever floats there boat ??
  8. Know the feeling about the sofa fella I don’t get chance to just chill out my self only time I stop doing something is when I go to bed to asleep. Won’t be long till them cold nights draw in. He’s learning by the sound of it mate he’s learning that once they hit the hedge it’s a probable game over so safest bet is put loads of pressure on them to get them to turn in the open ????I love memorable good runs far better than easy catches. That’s it mate now the nights are getting better get him behind as much as you can he should get better An better the more experience he has did he retrieve his
  9. Never the right conditions to get out big man if your not out you won’t see opportunity sat on the sofa??Your dogs sister is starting to prove handy she’s coming on lovely she’s had a few rabbits now I’ve just moved on to counting toes on numbers she’s taken she also ticked something else on the list off the other day that impressed me
  10. Used to have a strange guy we’re I used to live buy loads of frozen chicken to feed the foxes he’d pretty much bait the hedge lines up on the corner of a little spiny.....soon as dusk came foxes would be crossing all over the fields they were big old fields to get to this spiny it was always active round that spiny we court on to what was going on by fluke but was handy to know the reason why they were so interested to get to the spiny.the land management definitely twigged on because we kept finding shot foxes left at the feeding spots
  11. Alright mate the rough un you say is the dam looks like a bedlington x of some sort judgeing by the looks of it I mean judging by the baby seat in the back round it doesn’t look very big to be a deerhound x greyhound but might be Lurcher to Lurcher bred so might have deerhound in the mix the brindle looks just a greyhound to me but could be a racey bred lurcher. Shouldn’t make no difference on how your pups crossed should still catch gear for ya if bought on right
  12. Bedlington x whippet hart of a lion ??? katch I nearly dropped the bedlington bred pun my self but thought I’d leave it for the more experience banters because I know how sensitive the f1 finished article brigade get ??
  13. tbh I don’t think none of us English guys could really help as we’ve not got springbuck over here most Lurchers over here are not really a match for a hare most are just general purpose type rabbit dogs lamping/ferreting there are fox dogs over here but most of them are not really speedsters as such there more the heavy set type for the job ideal to be chucked out the back of a motor there are a few racey bred deer dogs about there not a set type same with our all round type dogs there not a set type there just dogs that are masters of none then there’s the hare catchers that tend to be Saluki
  14. Had a few fawn rabbits down our way over the years quite a few Black uns as well a village not to far from me i was driving to go fetch a mate early one morning i was going past a old water works I see what I could only describe as wild looking Dutch rabbits couldn’t believe my eye I’m guessing there were the results of a escape domestic rabbit x
  15. Same as any other cross I recon if you can be assed to train them and bring them on in stages I’ve seen a couple of good uns just as effective. Only difference with this cross is most people want a point an aim dog for lamping harder things and in a rush with them entering then when it comes to rabbits there crunched up an have to go chasing the dog to relieve it of the catch ??I think with this cross is a good un tbh in the right hands
  16. Looks like my old bitch in body how’s it bred mate
  17. Be interesting to see some pup post from people that had pups out the litter.the litter looks good nick litter bet there’s some happy dudes out there
  18. Cracking pups jig you done well old son ??Think there’s gunner be some real happy lads out there You can see the quality An care been taken in the rearing in them through the pictures you post fella speaks volumes all the best fella
  19. I think your right there crows 100% ??
  20. Imagine the saluki guys though the same if there was a f1 Sal/grey finish article they wouldn’t be were they are today they would of folded at the first gate there would be no match dogs like today no lines I think the match guys have got there heads screwed on right tbh best to best to keep the best lines going shame the bedlington greyhound loyalists don’t breed the same ?
  21. They are mate this f1 bedlington xpeas in pod stuff cracks me up it’s only based on looks not individual dog there all different.thats it ty the only thing that counts in the dog game is your happy with what ya got??On the Internet it’s all theory’s an small talk nothing more ??Tbh mate I can see you with a deerhound x greyhound given the size of ya ?? I think I’m the same once I can’t get what I need to suit me from heavy bred bedlington bred Lurchers I’ll be having a change of cross I’ll be putting other none traditional blood in there I’m doing less an less ferreting these days an more lam
  22. It’s interesting ain’t it Phil an very contradicting at the same time starts by saying the f1 is the finish article an don’t see the benefits of any thing else being added but might take a pup out of a lad that’s coming down from Cumbria if the bitch makes the grade?? Then recites to dogs of yesteryear to enforce his reasoning behind the thoughts that cannot be proved otherwise rather than the here An now sings the dogs praise of being the finished article thats bomb proof around stock and in every aspect of the job yet thinks people are stupid don’t remember nothing An can’t rea
  23. I like your honesty mate honesty goes a long way ?? Are you going to use him to breed your own replacements down the road if he’s ticking all you An your mates boxes for what you need be a shame to let a dog that you knows reliable at the job pass on without getting something out of him
  24. Nice looking dog fella what would you say your dog lacked in a honest opinion of your dog? Do you use him just as a rabbiting dog ?
  25. I know A couple of people that have got there selfs on land through joining a shoot beating team showing how adaptable Lurchers can be as retrieving dogs An showing how well trained they can be it’s opened up door ways to land to run dogs on But I suppose it’s comes down to if you want to join the beating line ive a couple of little to reasonable spots to lamp an ferret me an a mate we share all our decent spots between us both were both in agreement that we won’t take anyone out no more that’s not in our very small circle on them or open mouths were they are ones a large farm that’s pe
