  1. my patt was the fighter in his previous yard;- think it was kennel stress as he doesnt fight at all here, he has a lot more freedom in my yard as he has free run of 1/4 acre along with a terrier bitch and up until recently collies and a lurcher as well.
  2. still in the planning + research stage but i expect i will be renting, if it all goes well i will return home for a few months and make arrangements for a longer visa for both of us + ship over our best terriers + rehome the rest. its pretty much going to be a permanent relocation! ive always got the backup of my house over here that will be rented out (hopefully)
  3. i will be working there on a 3-6mths work visa before we decide to both move over for the long term,
  4. i could drive from the top of northern ireland to the very furthest south in less than 10hrs i reckon, guess i have to revise those ideas i have had ingraned in me since i was a kid;- i dont plan to live on this small island for too much longer!
  5. dont think i should have too much bother with the firearm side of it, i aint gonna shoot anyone + ive a clean record, all i would want a gun for is hunting, what im interested in is location + game + fishing and hunting season!
  6. my husband and I due to the new anti hunting + anti breeding laws (as well as a few of the old ones)in this country have made us start thinking of going to greener and wilder pastures, we expect that along with further education that it will be 3yrs before we go, we want to find a place that is just beyond the edge of civilisation, surrounded by hundreds of acres of forests and lakes and with an abundance of hunting of all kinds of game, wilder the better, preferably within 5/6hrs drive of the united states, basically i would like to know what kinds of game that are legal to hunt, what the sea
  7. left over lino from the kitchen floor;- cheap too
  8. dont forget pucheen, made from distilled potatoes- irish moonshine in a nutshell! not hard to make (so ive heard), cheap too, a little on the illegal side however! lol!
  9. probably just an ignorant prik but; i wouldnt like anyone near my animals or offering them food without asking me first- i have heard of dogs being drugged or poisoned by jealous rivals, and i also have a neighbour that stole my pet goat by luring him over the fence with feed, as for giving a dog water- i would be guilty of doing that myself.
  10. do you mean east galway animal rescue? if ya do thats a fair distance from the south;- galways in the west. ash animal rescue has a guy with a ventilated van + specialist built in cages that does trips between rescues in uk + ireland, his name is remi;- you should be able to get hold of him via this number 00353(0)596473396. the dog will need to be vaccinated and have all the relevent paperwork before he will transport it however. atb. gem.
  11. jeez, i read the whole thread + it just gets worse + worse ........... just use nettles or thistles or if your in the USA use poison ivy
  12. a limousin cow with a calf is dangerous enough without her having horns! most temperamental breed ive ever had the misfortune to work with, native breeds + charolais are so much easier to handle
  13. I wouldnt go out any more if i was you the perils of working with livestock! know plenty of people killed on local farms, a neighbour took one too many chances with his bull and was trampled to death, another neighbour up the road was crushed behind his own tractor few years back- he had it on slow reverse in the shed + clearly wasnt paying attention when backed up on top of him- nowt left of his head- it was flattened.
  14. a few;- limousin cow tryed to kill me when i was lifting her newborn calf out of a drain- she charged + i dived backwards into a barb wire fence to avoid her. got thrown from horses a few times + was once caught in stirrup and dragged along the ground for what seemed like an eternity before i freed myself.
  15. jez, i thought i was mad buyin an 11mth old lakiexpatt bitch from a stranger;- she looks good but i was cautious bout paying a 100stg for her
  16. theres a pic of me with my lakiexpatt on another thread, any idea how i can move it here as someone else posted the pic
  17. ive one made from cow horn;- my dad used to use it in viking re-enactments in the 70's and early 's if you want it i'll give it to you im going to be at birr this year if your going?
  18. vouchers for topshop - worked a treat on my 11yr old nieces birthday
  19. yep, thats me in the middle, been dying to see that pic! ur a superstar! my patterdale dog came 4th in the working terrier class as well but i missed it;- was keeping my other dogs cool while my hubby was handling him, i liked the guy you had judging- he did a great job;- i am biased though after being placed! lol
  20. ive bought my first lakiexpatt bitch there at the weekend, hope she turns out to be a good worker;- shes a real cracker (looks-wise), iv high hopes for her theres a pic of me + her in the shanes castle game fair link if yus want to see! we came second in the ladys handling class
  21. me and my new lakiexpatt came 2nd in the ladies handling on the sunday- more than made up for the racing on saturday;- great weather too!
  22. think my lurcher was in that race- she gave up near the end, her first lure race at least i wasnt the only one whos dog bolted
  23. had a great 2 days up there, got placed a couple times with 2 of my terriers on sunday so im very happy and there where a lot of great dogs there;- 2 that caught my eye were a 1/2 bull 1/2 greyhound bitch- mostly white with a half black face and also the tiniest whippet ive ever seen nearly pure black but nicely made- couldnt take my eyes off her. and i cant wait for birr!
  24. this is why im anti rspca + ispca, i support a lot of the other dog charitys dogs trust etc, but rspca are a bunch of power hungry know it all wannabe do-gooders that do far more harm than good, i avoid them where possible despite my animals being in the finest of health,i wouldnt pull the rspca out of a boghole if they were drowning. however i couldnt/wouldnt say a bad word about the dogs trust, wood green, the donkey sanctuary and all those like them. and would much rather see them get the funding. i hope your mate gets his dogs back.
  25. chiltern ducks lay 340-360 per yr approx khaki cambells lay 350 per year approx not sure of numbers with indian runners but a lot of people swear by them for green eggs i would cross a magpie duck with any of those above
