  1. think this topic was already covered, heard the pups were all 6mths, bet he is scratching his ass wondering why buyers aint queueing down the street, wonder if some fella down the pub convinced him this was a brilliant idea + that he would get 1000's from this litter!!!
  2. i was:- in antiques. nowt else, hunting is something i do for fun not profit, ya learn to look around very carefully when moneys tight as well.
  3. how often you buying ferrets. i bought 1 litter this year for myself as my jill ate her kits, ive another litter coming down in another month because my friends have been hounding me to pick them up 1 or 2 kits each at the same money (5-8stg each). i dont buy ferrets often but i do keep a close eye on prices.
  4. is she an only dog? if not let another dog eat her food in front of her if she refuses it for a day or 2, she will soon change her mind. greed should soon overcome fussyness
  5. if you are unable to breed working stock that are free from deformity then it is you the problem lies with, i dont breed show stock. and i definately do not breed from animals with any visible deformity. including;- undershot/overshot jaws, cryptorchism, cleft palate, luxation of the patella and a whole pile more im to tired to think of at the moment. now im off to bed.
  6. i don't agree with that mate, i've seen great working dogs with defects like that, i'd rather breed from them than a cur with a good mouth i wouldnt breed from any dog with an undershot jaw + i wouldnt breed from the cur either...... you really shouldnt breed ANYTHING including yourself if your standards are that low. spoken like a true prick, i've never breed from an under shot dog myself but if was a great worker it and a line i wanted to use i would rather than breed from a show pony with a lovely set of choppers, i just realised what time and night it is, you must be one off tho
  7. its the breeders responsibility to sell healthy pups free from deformity, any one who breeds a litter so irresponsibly is only a peddler. all i see here are piss-poor examples of wannabe breeders trying to blame their money grabbing puppy farming on the buyer.

  9. personally, if i were attached to the pup i would demand at least a 50% refund from the breeder he should have picked up on the fault and culled the pup. i would never breed from that pup (or any out of those parents) breeding from animals with clear birth defects should never be condoned and anyone who does condone it needs their head looking at. i hope your mate finds another pup from a better breeder. maybe the next time he will give the pup a full checkover before he buys.
  10. all the vermin i hunt are legal - rats, rabbits + anti's if we all go onto antis websites and download a picture of one of them and use it as our avatar it might throw a spanner in the mix + use THEIR NAMES as our sigs!
  11. directions as above with a few modifications either way head towards belfast (coming from troon will probably ad an extra 30mins max to your journey) you want to head out of belfast on the M5, turn off onto the A1 for BANBRIDGE, head for NEWRY, keep heading south on the NEWRY road towards HAGGARDSTOWN + DUNDALK, turn off for ARDEE or STRABARNAN and head on the N52 towards KELLS, pass through KELLS and head towards MULLINGAR on the N52 head out on the N52 for dublin/athlone + turn off for ATHLONE when you reach the N6. turn off for TULLAMORE and you should be starting to see signs for B
  12. cahirmee horse fair is on this sunday+monday (buttevant co.cork) according to the lads who are already down there its going to be huge this year. it was cracking last year. expect to see anything + everything down there;- worth a day trip if your not working (especially monday) if i dare to call in a sickie i might see you there.....
  13. hope you come across your old lurcher as well, post another ad/pic on site- never know, someone might know her
  14. you can get specialist boots designed for working dogs and those recovering from injury, might be worth looking into, she wont like them at first but its worth a try if it means you get to keep a loyal and hardworking lurcher. http://www.canine-spirit.com/categories/dog-boots?gclid=CNXOouHE4aICFRdBIAodZXEcxg
  15. for some insane reason i sold a cracking whippet lurcher bitch about 18mths ago, i was getting ready to move house and i had had her advertised for a while + just as i had changed my mind a lad rang me about her + like a muppet i sold her, dont have a clue where she ended up as the lad i sold her to sold her on again. she was blue with a white stripe down her nose, rough coated, very light in build and had a very distinctive + a bit ugly to be honest fold in one of her ears making it point forwards, she would be 2yrs old now. if anyone knows what became of her i would love to know, i
  16. i wouldnt rule it out completely, i havent brought my own collies hunting but they have killed rats in my garden + when a neighbours pet rabbit got out at my previous house they hunted it down and killed it. as well as that my collie bitch along with my old parson that i use for bushing hunted down and caught a half grown leveret in the field next door, i retrieved it off them and re-released it. my only concern would be that instincts would kick in a little too much + the collie would herd the rabbits instead.
  17. my old parson bitch responds to loads of names;- pandora, dora, bitch and a few names that ex boyfriends used to call her just to annoy me!
  18. sad day for your mate, never kept bird of prey but i lost 350euros worth of a shamo stag when he flew into the dog run last year so i kinda know what hes going through......... makes you feel sick to your stomach when something like this happens. atb, gem.
  19. i dunno, a bag would be more like a nest in a way......never had one for a ferret but when i was about 12 i had a pet norweigan hooded rat, he would spend alot of time sat on my shoulder but when he was bored or tired he would go back into the bag to sleep or to hide food, i often end up with a sore shoulder carrying my ferret box as it is quite heavy...... i wouldnt rule the bag out entirely.
  20. if i was picking a kit from a reasonably well handled litter i would be most likely to choose the bold little kit that is cheeky enough to give me a nip, maybe thats a reflection on me though;- i like animals that are as grouchy as me...lol
  21. dammit, was to busy this mornin 2 switch on the telly, i missed all da fun............
  22. looks like ive won that bet!!! raoul has sustained gunshot wounds and has survived.... get your mrs topless pic on your avatar topknotch

  24. from what i recall the ridge is a birth defect that has been written into their breed standard as a feature of the breed...... of all the ridiculous things!
