I had it this year with a first time broody, it could have been because I moved/separated her a few days prior to hatch, but I was lucky, I managed to revive the chicks. Second time round she was fine. Could be a number of things bud. Just one of those things.. The same bantam is now sitting again in the communal nest boxes - on nothing!.

had my patt spayed about 3 yrs ago now, 1st 24 hrs was the worst for her, after that she recovered really quickly, dont bother with the plastice collar, mine couldnt reach the place where the stitches were anyway, and the collar pissed her off more than the stitches, good luck

they reckon that you have to reduce the food by up to a third following the op, i never found out till too late, she's put weight on an i cant get it off her now.

Yeah, Ive heard about reducing the food Jonah. Mines a patt too. We got the russel done 2 year ago and she cant eat all day and not put an ounce of fat on. Weird.

Its worked for me, could be a due to having a good clean out, burn up and the ficam too though. Theres no more headshaking in any of the birds and theres a lot more solid shite`s so I would say it has wormed them. They`re due a second dose in a few days, I`ll have a good thorough look for any mite when I administer it.

Yeah great Joel. Well notice a difference. 0.5ml on the hens, 0.2.5 on the bantams and 0.1.5 on the Serama chicks. Give the pens another quick going over with the rest of the ficam and Im done, all clear... for now.

Should build some steps out of bricks bud, they will panic if they go in too deep too quick - and cant get back out. I use a plastic sweet tin with a brick in it.

Nice pictures bud. They look well happy. Reminds me of when my daughter was 4 and threw the cat in the pool, never seen a pool punctured so quickly with so many holes.. I can laugh about it now, but I wasn't when it happened, £ pool down the swanney.

Mine have been itchy lately Joe, not seen owt on them and they`re out of season too and also haven`t been worked in some time. Ive just got over red mite off the chickens, so I sprayed their court with bug killer and give them a big handful of diatomaceous in the form of a rub down. Don't want to be using the heavy pesticides till needed. They seem a bit better.

Its a pour on Boot`s! Viovet was sound, because its a live stock medicine, I was expecting the need for a prescription (its hard work getting frontline and flubernet round here). I placed the order Friday night and it took them till around 5pm yesterday to get back to me, saying that its been dispatched.
