  1. One thing -i wouldnt touch a ferret from a market etc. If your gonna start, start with what will last. Get some decent, well bred, well reared kits from someone on here. Also, i'd advice bright colored plastic tent pegs and bright as fook nets. Saves a lot of hassle and extra cash replacing lost ones, and the bunnys dont give a toss!
  2. I do some wierd shit with tits and sticky stuff, but i cant tell you, it's a secret. . . . . . .. . . You could try asking your mum tho.
  3. f**k me. Why don't you just call 999. Your an idiot mate
  4. Aye mate, but thats life, 70% (or more) of people are morons, to each and every one of us, from wherever we stand. If i had my way, i'd stop 90% of you all hunting and confiscate your lands, your titles and you liberty, make you my serfs and ponce about with dogs all day, of course you would be banned from using the internet, and all just cos i'm a right b*****d like that, but it aint gonna happen, not soon anyhow, so just deal with what we got or go on a killing spree / have a wank, and get that anger oot.
  5. The thing is whin - most folk were not disagreeing with you if you'd actually read the posts - what you have said has already been said by others. So your not the only one with any sense on here.. . . . . which is the bit you dont seem to get. No offence.
  6. I do remember my old man having a locator but i dont think he ever used it. It's funny, some folk seem to be digging all the time, i get maybe a handful or so a season and i'm out nearly everyday for at least an hour or two and full days twice a week, or more. The rabbits are bolted. We know we dont leave kills, even if the ferret was super quick and didnt stop for long, we could still tell by the dog, same with any rabbits still holed up down there. The ferrets kill, and move on and we can mark it and dig down, but like i said rarely happens and i've never dug to a live rabbit. are

Get yersell back up here for some proper weather Ideation I do miss it matey, no place like it, used to hunt a lot round lauder, penicuik, Selkirk, Biggar etc The borders really. Lived on Fala moor. But did get all over, spent a few good months mooching about the highlands and islands, wester ross being a real fave, just the fishing rod, maybe dog, ferret, whatever. Lovely place. Need to convince the missus to move up there and rent/buy a farm somewhere remote.

  13. For someone who reckons you wont find any real hunters on the site, any decent info or anything worth reading - you f*****g live on here mate! To be honest i'm not surprised no one has taken the time to show you decent ferrets, whippets or whatever that are about these days, like your always complaining about. Know it alls are extremely tedious. Still sometimes you do talk some real sense and make some very good observations. I just bet your a miserable b*****d.
  14. Scotland later cos its colder. Apart from that - read the first page of the site.
  15. Right now its when does season end? In a month it will be - my hob appears to be trying to kill my jill. . . . . why? - Do i need to mate my jill or will she die? - etc etc etc etc etc etc Happy days! I think its indicative of this world that folk come and post a topic asking a question, when that topic has been posted and answered three times on the first page. The only question is stupid, blind or ignorant?
  16. Thats another upside - with the collars i have much more confidence sticking the ferrets into some wierd and wonderful places (attics, barns, cellers, up hollow trees, into massive brush piles etc).
  17. They dont give up mate, even if they need to eat their way through. I know what your saying tho, i always use locators, but i guess i'm just very lucky in that i very very very rarely need to dig (usually counted on fingers by seasons end), and dont leave the dead/bottled up. My main reason for having the collar, is simply that sometimes ferrets do just get stuck, or end up 50/100 yards away after going up a pipe or some thing silly. For me 160 quid would be a very cheap price to pay to get one of my workers back, so buying a locator was a no brainer.
  18. Sods law no matter how little they work atm, by going into that many sets if there was a bunny home they would have bolted at least one (if they are running in one hole and out another). They might miss a lot at this stage but usually you'd scare the odd one out. In fact you rarely get a ferret that, if entered to a small set where a bunny is at home (and they can smell it) wont hunt that bunny at least out of curiosity. As has been said - season can come into it. I got a great little worker here who this last week or so has just decided she cannae be f****d to even go down, just wants

  20. Just in case some of he newer/younger lads dont figure it out - season lasts longer further north and higher you are due to temp. But it evens out cos on high ground etc you always lose some of the mid-season to the weather.
  21. Just back from Sussex - some game down there!

  22. Nope, just kill, stare at your for a bit then wander off . . . . .
