  3. Pm a member on here called 'BAW' he is one of Scotlands leading Saluki enthusiasts, i'm sure he will give you a fair and well balanced appraisal of their abilities etc. atb Jai.
  4. And i think we have a winner ! A wood mouse with a blue rinse.
  5. I'm aiming for 200,987. Whether i'll make it or not is a different thing entirely. Odd question though.
  6. IDE- here are few of my vids nothing special just to get an ide He just busting my balls Doc has owned allot of yellow "curs" in his life time Seriouly its really color prefrence, I dont like the yellow curs as they reming me of a lab and mostly thoese Kemmers come yellow. But if the stand out pup in the litter is yellow that color takes a back burner to the performance end. Cheers for the vids mate, in that first one those yellow dogs look pretty damn keen. Was the pig shot as well, or brought down by the hounds? And in the second, i have respect for any dog that c
  7. Named after the old one?
  8. Always makes me smile when folk talk of dogs as tools. Because with any tools, you get some that value and treasure them, look after them well, and have them for life, and some that are always down b&q desperately trying to buy another cheap hammer to replace the countless ones that they either lost, broke, or were not up to the job. I think to any work man, no useful / valuable tool, is 'just a tool'.
  9. Sounds like they aren't the only ones JOKE!
  10. Out of interest why cull by color? Not knocking, just curious?
  11. All bollocks, it's just a mutation, agouti (rabbit color) is actually made up of white, black, ginger, brown etc hairs, and sometimes you get weird color expressions. Usually a sign of a good healthy population
  12. Cheers for that mate, interesting info, i'd love to see them work. Do different 'types' of cur have different working styles or applications (i.e different quarry, land etc).
  13. Well. . . . what do you think of it? You just bought it? How did the dam and sire work? There's you answer Any pics?

  15. Meant your collection of 'Cur' meanings. Aye, he'll be a long at some point (or dan) to fill us in. From what i know curs are a mixed hound/terrier type dog, and there are maybe different 'types' of cur, but the idea (and i think if you look at the pups it looks that way) is that they breed true to that type, cur x cur.
  16. Bulk it out with flesh. You don't have to feed BARF, but i'dd give her some meat and maybe bones, with her fry, and it'll just be that bit more fat and protein. Also will help her teeth.
  17. i think it's just an old old english word for a working dog with no specific breeding, ie a mongrel. I think the yanks still use the word whereas we forgot about it years ago. it used to be an insult to call someone a cur. Yes, i know that. But in the states i think they use it to refer to fairly specific dogs, of mixed breeding, rather than any old mongrel. And i THINK that they will roughly breed true to type, whereas most proper 'mongrels' will throw a lot of litter variation. Just to add to your collection a 'cur dog' is also hunting terminology for any non-hound.
  18. For the record . . . . . . i've had a full beard for the last 8/9 years
  19. Alright mate, whats in a cur? Or are they line bred? If that makes sense?
  20. Almost looks like the dam has collie in her somewhere back, or something, and it's come out stronger in the pup. Nice looking dog though
