  1. He's up stairs on the bed, bucket on head. Stitches came out this eve, so will be back out on light duties this week, until the knitted skin toughens up, the difficult thing will be trying to hold him back and stop him chucking himself about like rambo. He's like a bottle of pop now mate.
  2. FFS how did you think they were bull/russell x greyhound when he advertised them as collie/whip x grey. Can you not read? Was it not 1st x collie x grey?
  3. I'm not doubting you mate Maybe we just breed them big in wales Although most of the collies we had were brought down from Scotland.
  4. Good write up and pics mate, cheers for sharing Which part of the world are you in? PM if you like.
  5. Not realy... seen some cracking working Borders around 18-21" Cheers. Fairplay. The dogs we always had, and the ones you see around here are usually a good bit bigger than that, at least the dogs are anyway. You do get some smaller, lighter bitches. But most of the workers have got a bit of leg and bulk about them. Seen a lot of little runty looking pet collies though.
  6. The dam is same size as mentioned in the bull x russel x grey thread as well. Although that could be a coincidence easy . . . .
  7. oh its on its way jai Scott. . . . . i really do hope so. Enough snow and the school gets shut, so i get off work, and it's perfect mooching / ferreting weather. What more could you want!
  8. 21 " tts is fecking small for a working male collie is it not???
  9. Too true mate. As Johnnyboy sais, it has a lot to do with his drive. I suppose it's typical of a pure sight hound, but once he gets his hunting head on and is picking up air or ground scents, he goes a little bit deaf, and once he has actually sighted his prey and has it on the run, nothing will stop him, and anything that gets in his way, he will just try to plough through. He's a good 'hunting' dog and can work off on his own independantly quite happily, and if there is game anywhere near, or even not so near, he will track it down and get it moving. He's a smart enough dog, but sometimes hi
  10. I'm so jealous, i'd love a good dump of snow! Drives everything to ground and keeps a lot of folk out of the countryside
  11. She was just a youngish puppy when you came to mine wasn't she??? She's looking fit as feck in that one photo on her own mate. Looks like she's been on the roids
  12. Cheers buddy. Our season is going ok, but to be honest with doing extra work (getting made redundant in spring) i have been out half as much as usual if that, and with finn being injured twice this season so far, that's eaten up a few days as well. But we have had some good sport and some good banter And to be fair our bolt to kill ratio is well up this year, counting just the days where its been just me or me, johnny and tom, i think we have only missed about four rabbits out of the hundreds we have bolted, so i'm pretty chuffed with that Fingers crossed you get some goos sport when
  13. Haha, maybe mate, but like you said, he was a good lad today. For the first time, we probably did the job quicker, and it went smoother, because we had a third man, rather than a boy tagging a long who is just about the place eating sandwiches. The look on that bunnys face, i can imagine him saying 'so, do ya think your lucky punk'
  14. Sunday today, so i headed off early, with two jills, the old silver girl and the young polecat (bred by johnnyboy) with me. Finn was staying at home (stitches out tomorrow) and sat on the stairs watching me head off, through the window, howling like a banshee. Picked up johnnyboy with Gem and Luna in tow, and headed off. Our first port of call, was a farm i have permission on, where i have recently noticed a few bunnys knocking about a long the edge of one field. The plan was to have a quick mooch and see if it was worth a proper trip. Walking to our intended hedge, the dogs put up a rabbi
  15. You could come here mate, but like i said, it's a wednesday.
  16. And how exactly did they pluck rape out of the air????????? The child was admitted to hospital with sexual injuries and serious internal injuries. Granted the media have a bad rep in this country but your just trying to deflect from the crime imo. Don't get all worked up mate. I just caught it on the news and they didn't mention rape, sexual injuries, or serious internal injuries when i saw it, maybe there have been greater developments since them. The newspaper article you linked also does not mention sexual injuries or internal injuries, despite using rape in the title. H
  17. Sick as f**k. . . . . but where did the 'raped' bit come from, it seems the mirror have pulled that one out of thin air?
  18. Well done matey and a nice little do Glad that kit started well mate, it's a good line, and so far i don't think i've heard of any that havn't taken to it like pros.
  19. 3 bears, 2 lions and one fooking skunk.
  20. Like i said before though, i see a lot of kits advertised as 'from good working stock', by people who say that they and their mates only work jills. . . . . . I agree that some hobs are too big, but i like a decent sized jill, capable of taking the knocks and dishing them out when needed, and you need a decent sized hob to produce such offspring. Also, in big, deep warrens, a couple of big hobs will do the job of a handful of smaller jills. Maybe it's the stink?
