I wonder if some of the old F&MWTC year books leave out to much detail,eg was the terrierman working for a pack with an impatient master almost ordering the terrier man to enter more than one dog in an effort to bolt the fox more quickly.Most freelance terrier men at any time in history would of probably been less inclined to enter more than one dog wanting to test the terrier and be more sporting same as most modern day decent terriermen. I have never worked the big rock piles described in some of the rescues and I would imagine an agile fox could lead a single terrier a merry dance perh

Its quite wild down are local co-op perhaps they get it from there. No your right rothbury,the nearest you can keep to their natural diet,whole carcass etc is best.

Pedigree chum...tinned for the dogs. Bread and milk for the ferrets. Cant be doing with all these modern fangled ways of feeding stock,one things for sure only the strongest survive....

I dont know how long you have had ferrets [bANNED TEXT],I dont have any at the moment but when I did it never failed to amaze me how quickly a jill ferret seems to go out of condition just after having kits,it might just be the natural order of things.If it is just weight loss and she seems otherwise healthy I wouldnt worry to much just keep an eye on things.

Valerio its not just the type of earth that would dictate size of terrier(though it obviously is a major factor)but also what you expect your dog to do when it gets up to its quarry.I personaly prefer a dog that will work its oponent hard dominating and even holding until the diggers get there,in the right earths even killing its fox this type of dog or bitch is generaly bigger/stronger.A small baying type that bolts its fox or gives the quarry to much respect is not for some,though it is gold dust to others.

A3/4 bred should be game enough and quick enough,but dont know how the stamina would stand up to long gruelling courses,that I have read coyotes can give.If your going to slip them from the back of a pick up on to quarry a 1stx would probably be as good for the quick dash and grab

When you breed bull/gryhounds IMHO its not just gameness you are breeding for but the strengh,power and bulk to use that gameness to its best advantage.You may find other types faster better runners possably even as game as bullxs but they wont IMHO have that power and strengh to the degree of the bullx.When people criticise the Bullx as a running dog(I know your not)they should remember with this type of dog its not all about running.
