  1. Cheers mate, yes have thought about the co2 bulk fill option, however that would require a 9oz tank, and trying to get one here is very hard, they are available from the states, however they are not uk stamped, so getting it filled would be a nightmare, also apart from me being able to get the airtank filled free, hpa does not suffer from power variations due to temp changes,so I think hpa is the way foreward.
  2. Hi guys, looking to convert ny 850 airmagnum from co2 to hpa,got the adapter, just need to know the best place to get the small 13ci airtank from, have seen them for around 45 quid, just wondering if anyone knows of a cheaper scource for them, and of course legal to be filled in the uk,cheers.
  3. Vermex for raptors mate, brilliant stuff, always had hawks in a1 condition with it

    .. AMY..

Nice one pal,you got what you deserve after the xmas tragedy with Rico, sounds like you have the makings of a bloody good Harris there mate.
  6. As above, have you perhaps forgotten to list a conviction? it does happen, but as they have not refused you,I would not worry too much,as stated can you think of anything?
  7. 50 yards are you having a laugh? I have shot dozens at 150 plus with a hornet, and one or two at 200 ish every one has dropped like a stone,45gn Sierra varminter is my preference of bullet, they buck the wind better and carry more energy than the vmax, but have shot lots with that round and a very effective round it is.
  8. If they only require a little trim I would file rather than cut mate, then you can get the desired shape easily, make sure the hawk is getting them in the bath for a good soaking regularly, they will sharpen up nicely then.
  9. Well he certainly wont be hurting if he buys a Nikon, thats for sure.
  10. put a neoprene cover on your moderator, job sorted,or at least it was for me
  11. Buy a Nikon prostaff mate, absolutely pisses on anything for the price and way above, the clarity and zero retention is superb, you should get a good used one for 120 ish and I think Litts had them on offer recently for £110 you will not get a better scope for the money I promise.
  12. bloody hell, if they start to breed Im selling the .22 lr and using the .243 for them
  13. Weatherby vanguard/howa 1500, same rifle, brilliant, I have a vanguard in .243 and it is a real tack driver, you will not go wrong with one, best value rifle in the country.
  14. Yes I am thinking of doing that,or a 9 oz co2 bottle, although with air it wont suffer from temp variation probs, and will be able to set it close to the legal limit without fear of it going over,as for the advertising blurb,I never beleive it, the chronograph never lies, the last .22 I had was doing 10.2flbs on a warm day,so a little tinkering should see it go up to around 11.5,and be consistent
  15. Self important wan---s as said would not give them the steam from my sh-te.
  16. Hi guys,I had a .22 850 a couple of years back and really liked it,I fancy another one,and was wondering if anyone had experience of my preffered calibre .177, if so how was the power? did you have to do a mod ie hammer spring upgrade to get close to the legal limit, obviously it will use more co2 than a .22 but Im not bothered about that I just want it to perform near the legal limit, cheers lads.
  17. Yes how is she doing now the snow has gone?back to her former glory?
  18. you are welcome mate, good hunting
  19. Bullet selection is exactly the same, they both fire a .224 bullet, and dont make me laugh,NEW BARREL EVERY YEAR,a keeper freind of mine has one he has used 4 or 5 nights a week for 15 years and it is still deadly accurate,it is down to how you look after them, and not letting the barrel get too hot. For factory ammo? I never mentioned anything about barrels. No you did not mate my apologies,I was sort of answering two posts at once,as regards factory ammo, whatever weight/bullet type you choose for a .223 you can also choose for the .22-250 one size fits all so to speak, and they are b

  21. The 95s especially the Hornady sst work very well, and with the extra grunt of the ssm will be a good deer killing bullet, if you are going to reload for it,the Sierra 85gn hpbt are a superb deer bullet too.
  22. To be honest there is not a massive difference between the two, they both fire exactly the same .224 bullet, the .22-250 has more grunt and will shoot them further, however it is louder and burns more powder, but for many years now it has been the fox shooting round par- excellance, and the advantage you have got over new trendy calibres like (the very good .204) is you can shoot deer with both .223 and .22-250 Roe in scotland and cwd and muntjac in England and Wales,me personally if I was buying another fox rifle,Id go .22-250 as I love the round, and if I did not use the .243 for fox as well as de
