  1. The first part of your post says it all then, in your opinion ethnicity does not matter, well that is your opinion, and I respect your right to hold it. on your second point which I apologise for not answering to your satisfaction, no it does not only apply to black players, why would it?But the whole point of me starting (and I apologise to the op) my little rant, is that it was suggested that a person of African heritage can be English, they cannot, I am not going to repeat what I said earlier, I have said it enough times, if a person cares to have a DNA test, and trace their ancestry,
  2. So by your reckoning if my parents (being white) were born in Nigeria, and I was then born from their union, in Nigeria, I am Nigerian yes? Ok my passport and birth cert etc would say Nigerian, however my ethnicity would not be African/Nigerian would it? In the same way that a black, brown, mixed race, mongolian, red Indian, Mexican etc etc born in England, does not have an English ethnicity, he may be born in England, but he can never be English in the true sense of the meaning, he can put on an England football shirt, or have the white wyrm of England tattooed on his forehead, but he will neve
  3. It's not about where they came from, but who they chose to fight for. Same with the England players really. Oneredrim - apologies if I screwed up your thread with my incorrect terminology pal. I genuinely thought the guys in the England strips were English!!! Well I am sure he will forgive you, so in one breath you say its not about where they come from but who they play for, ok I dont have a problem with that, but then in the next breath you say you thought (and I assume you meant all) the guys in England strips were English? So If I put on a Nigerian football strip, that makes me Niger
  4. Another nice outing boys, now be careful you will get a reputation, and upset some jelous c*nt in your area
  5. I quite agree, and as we were not there, it is rather difficult to make cast iron statements, I accept that, but do remember that England got its name from the Angles(Angeland) and yes of course we are Germanic, anyway have just pm you a link, along the lines of what you asked me earlier mate, enjoy
  6. You are quite right a race of Germanic invaders, however what you have conveniently forgotten to mention is the fact that you "true Britons" who cowered down under the heel of Rome, and became oh so Roman, actually invited the Saxons into this country as mercenary fighters, as you weak Romanised "Britons" could no longer hold your own against the invading picts (the true scottish, not the modern scots of Irish decent) then by war and conquest the "English" pushed the "Britons" into Wales etc and took the land for their homeland, I make no apology for that, the Celts or "Britons" invaded this c
  7. Sorry mate but if the Romans bred with the Britons, who bred with the Vikings, who bred with the Normans etc etc that makes them mongrels, it's the fact that they lived in England that made them English. Imo it's the country that forges a people into what they are. America is a perfect example, made up of every race on earth but 99.9% will say they are Americans and proud of it. They may say they are afro-american or latin-american but they are all american. The problem we have today is that people are coming from other countries so quickly and in such big numbers that they don't have to mi
  8. Thankyou Gentelmen, Black lads serving in our armed forces are serving with the BRITISH army, their ethnicity, is afro caribbean that means they are of African decent, British they may be, born in England they may be but they are not English, and never will be, as Danw says a dog born in a stable is not a horse, tsteve999 you mention the Romans, vikings Normans etc and you make a valid point, however, the Romans interbred with the Britons, creating a largely Romano/celtic hierarchy, that was largely displaced by the incoming GERMANIC peoples that would eventually become known as the English,
  9. No it is not, the English are an ethnic group, I have no idea what you consider yourself to be, and quite frankly I dont care, I am not trying to start an argument here or in any way hijack the post, but my friend, the English are descendants of the Germanic peoples that settled here after the Romans left in 410ad the Angles (as in east Anglia) the Saxons, jutes, etc, just as the Welsh for instance are descendants of the Britons (Celts) if you are at all iterested I can point you towards some good reading that will explain things in detail, rather than my rather (for brevities sake) short expl
  10. There is no such thing as a black Englishman, English is an ethnic identity, black British yes, but English NOOO, no trying to ridicule you Pesky, just pointing out a fact mate.
  11. Going very well, about 3 deck feathers and a couple of primaries to go, but certainly in no rush, as the cover as usual will remain for ages lol.
  12. Reloading is not the black art some think it is, get a good reloading manual, watch some online videos, and get somebody to show you the ropes if you want, it does not cost a fortune to set up and the ammo you can produce is way better than factory mass produced stuff, still think you should go for a .25-06 though
  13. Quite agree, I feel both can be achieved in the same post.
  14. Get your cabinet fixed to the wall, it shows the police you are serious about security, and you fully expect to be granted a sgc. They will not like having to return just to veiw your cabinet.
  15. A very clinical and concise answer, but isn't it jolly good fun having a debate, after all that is what these forums are about, is it not? I think it would be a shame and also very boring if every post was answered in a black and white fashion, without any slight digression from the basic answer the op was looking for
  16. Direct them all to his Lairdship Rake Aboot, he will provide them all with shooting ground
  17. Hope thats it sorted for you mate, not a big fan of 6.5x55 myself, I see it as just too close to a .243 that can fire heavier bullets, the .25-06 would have been my choice, but what I would say is get re-loading for your 6.5 as I think the factory ammunition is pretty pedestrian, in the same way that it is for the .22 hornet, the factory stuff is loaded at low pressure to accomodate 100 year old guns, my mate Seeker has a 6.5 and it is a very accurate rifle with handloads indeed.
  18. And I am reliably informed that it is still the policy NOT to sanction rimfires for fox shooting, this is a debate that I suspect will re-occur many times in the future, and then when the .17wsm finally hits our shores, the hmr will fall a little by the wayside, and the debate will rage again, and we will probably see (not aimed at anyone on here) yet more articles by men shootin foxes with rimfires not realising they actually dont have a .22-250 in their hands.
  19. We are not saying it is not, up to a short range, so is a .22lr but there are far far better options than a .17 hmr, 100 yards without wind should be the limit, 150 yard shots on foxes are not on, I dont care how good a shot you are.
  20. Well it certainly still has enough muzzle energy (around 96tflbs) at 150 yards to humanely kill a fox, all I can say with that tiny little pill being so affected by the wind, if there was anything like a breeze, I would not risk a 150yard shot on a fox with that tiny little pill, but each their own I guess.
  21. Used fieldcraft basically, obviously bells have been around for a long long time, and at close range are a big help, but at any distance, the falconer would have to get on some high ground, and watch for signs, like crows magpies etc mobbing something, pretty much what most of us still do to an extent, before breaking out the receiver
  22. Well done another one for the venerable .222
  23. There is a PES/MAE over barrel for sale in firearms section, guy wants £100 it has been on a .243 and will be ideal on a .22-250 I have one on my .243 and have yet to hear/not hear anything better, as good but not better, these retail at over£300 so it is a bargain.
  24. Are you head or chest shooting them at that range?
  25. No but I am if you are going to shoot foxes over 75 yards, leave the pea shooter at home and use a proper calibre, and I am being serious here, I think to shoot a fox @ 150 yards with a .17 hmr would be irresponsible, I am not saying it wont despatch one at that range, but the chances of a runner are just too great, keep it to 75- yards and the hmr is fine, a deal more and get a .22 hornet or a .222 etc.
