  1. The pup is a little cracker!!! Too nice a dog for a chancer like G!!!
  2. I have always bought Deerhunter everything, which lasts alright but for the money I would expect them to stay waterproof for a lot longer. My missus bought me a Ridgeline Fleece Jacket and some Trousers that are not so well made but have lasted longer so far, but are a bit sweaty!!! I haven't tried Harkilla because the last post on here didn't rate them. So I'd be interested to hear if there are any other makes on here that people recommend.
  3. Who said the Lurcher game is full of rogues... Clearly some Gentlemen still about... Great to see and all the best with the pup!
  4. He looks a little cracker, let's hope he's not like your other hound and trying hump my precious girls at any given opportunity.... You've spent a long time looking for the right pup buddy and if Blue is anything to go by he's in the right hands...
  5. Just got home from being up that way and beyond... Went as far as Raasay off The Isle of Skye, good to be out with the dogs in the wild for a bit, though taking the wife and kids camping was probably not the best idea!!! Pissing down so came home early!!! Lovely back down here in sunny Devon!!! I nearly sh@t myself when then pup was off hunting and a gert Sea Eagle came up over the hill, I kept the mutts on the lead for most of the time after that! Stunning all the same...
  6. I have similar here with my larger bitch Rue, she broke her hock at 10 months old, it's only recently that I have been able to piece together what happened after a visit to the bone man at 5 years old. I kept resting her up as soon as she went lame again and again, get her fit take her out a couple of times and the same thing would happen again... I now keep her a lot lighter than ever before, massage her with green rub 2-3 times a week but more importantly I think, on my vets recommendation I keep on working her as it would be cruel to not to, with lots more steady walks and plenty of hunting
  7. There's been a few cats around and about the Zoo that have escaped before. The owner was telling a friend of mine not that long ago he was doing the rounds at night and checking the 'stock' when he shone his torch around by the Lion enclosure and a big pair of eyes reflected back in the path. He immediately radioed for help and shone around all the cats to see they were all in the their enclosures and this one had come back for a visit obviously lost by the previous owners... The place used to be pretty run down...
  8. Don't like it. It's no Beddy Whip is it....! Hope you are well dude....
  9. That poor pup's gonna have to work fair hard to earn it's keep, you could always send it down to Uncle Sniffer for a break.....
  10. Shite, get a Russel. The knowledgable one has spoken I wonder what he is really like... I'm sure he is perfectly charming....
  11. This mutt was basically that... I'd call her Lurcher to Lurcher away from the lines that she came from. Great dog... Miss her loads.
  12. The people that can't handle seeing affection between family members are the ones that have hangups themselves, usually blokes and their son's that can't hug and kiss because it's gay! More like dad's not secure enough in their own masculinity... I always hug my kids and give em a kiss, I love them to bits and let them know at every opportunity I can! Though I did stop myself from holding my sons hand across the road the other day, he is 14 now....lol
  13. Great stuff, I guess it's coming into your season to hunt now as things start cooling down... All the best
  14. Proper smart up there buddy, I'm heading up this year for sure, before I move to NZ for a while...
  15. Best of luck with them Didn't you get scanned as 5 pups too?
  16. Good stuff lads on both parts, it's nice when everyone gets along.... Thats a cute pic of your daughter and the pup mate, she sure don't get her looks from your side of the family though....
  17. I think £160 is cheap for a pup, especially one of those pups... I asked for £250 for mine, I took the highest price for similar breeding I could find and the lowest and pitched them in the middle, I didn't do it for the money as I wanted a pup for myself and one for my dad, but by the same token I wasn't going to give them away for nothing... Nobody quibbled and all of the pups went to great homes. I would think nothing of parting with a weeks wages for one yours...
  18. He's looking well buddy, nice one!
  19. I've seen them used on dogs that are blowing out of their arse after a few runs, did it help them? Not the pair of dogs in question, as they weren't in good condition, despite what the owner said, he himself is too lazy to put the effort in and was after something to give him 'the edge'. I can see it's a good idea to carry around 'incase' it is needed, fortunately I don't have the pleasure of catching 20's 30's or 40's in a night, so I probably won't ever need it! Fuji summed it up perfectly and you should be able to tell if your dog is starting to decline....
  20. Its probably not the best thing for the dogs but I use frontline, ticks shrivel up and die when they attach themselves to the dogs, I just flick them off. But running them on the moors through the bracken etc. as I do, it works well for me and I've stuck to it...
  21. I have recently noticed you've been slowing down, I didn't realise you were..... FORTY YEARS OLD TODAY!!!!! I thought you were much younger by the way that you talk!!!! Have a great day and remember there is no shame in taking more than one try to blow your candles out, nobody wants to see you pass out on y
  22. No greyhound blood in there buddy... He one of your pups then snifferboy. Just a slight question as to the height that's all, as you don't hear of too many beddy/whippets that tall at that age. Lovely pup though I think they are all roughly that size buddy, mine is a touch smaller, more like her mum but my dads is a giant... Looks like it should be pulling a cart!!! Bare in mind that the Sire is 22" and 18kg's so they should level off at around that, thats what I'd hoped for...
