    Linux

    To anyone who is wondering what Linux is its an operating system for computers like Microsoft Windows but unlike Windows it is totally free. I installed Linux Fedora on an old computer and had a play with it and l must say l am really really impressed. Has anyone else tried it or currently use it and what do you's think of it? cheers Callum

  4. Nope and l won't be either. Don't bother trying to crack it either guys unless you's can write computer programs cos its x86 machine code and you need to write a program to load the hex into memory so that it can be executed. cheers Callum

    Hi Moll try this to decide the default software to open your pics with: Navigate to the folder were your pics are saved. Hover your mouse pointer over one of your picture files. Click the right mouse button and a menu should pop up. Move your pointer over the Properties text and press the left mouse button. A new Properties window should popup and there should be a section that says open with as well as a button that says Change... Click on this button. A new window will open with a list of Recommended Programs. Click the left button once on the Program you want these files to open w

  17. 2 questions l have been told that are asked regularly no matter the job you go for is: "what do you do if the fire alarm goes off?" and "where do you see yourself being in 5 years?". Obvious answer to the fire alarm one would be switch off all machinery and walk outside using the nearest fire exit in an orderly manner and the other one erm. cheers Callum

Well its been 6 months since college ended and after going for dozens of jobs without even getting to interview l have finally managed to get myself to the second stage of an application and bagged myself an interview. Does anyone know generally what questions might be asked and what are the ideal answers? Hope this topic might be of help to other members as well as myself. cheers Callum

  21. On the Isle of Lewis everyone used to cut peat for the stove upto the mid 90's until oil became popular then about 90% of the houses had the oil fitted. Now that the price of oil has gone right up the amount of people cutting peat has gone up again! My old man, stingy bugger that he is never moved with the times and we still cut peat. What l hate about is the monotony of it an l only help with cutting it and taking it home a month or two after its been cut depending on the weather. We cut 4 60 yard banks a year and cut two levels into the peat and over the course of 2 weeks we spend about
