  1. Whilst shooting my rim fire rifle I have noticed that the bullets fired from it are affected quite a bit by the wind. Wind speeds were I live are about 15mph - 20mph most of the time which means that l spend a good bit of time re zeroing the scope to suit. I do wait for the gusts to die down before l fire and once l re-zero my scope my groupings a less than an inch at fifty yards. I'm waiting for a nice calm day to zero the gun in so that the only factor shooting wise that can mess up the point of impact is myself. Once this has been done I hope to learn the wind gauges on my cross-hairs
  2. gotta say I reckon the calmer the day the easier it is to zero as well. Iv been zeroing my gun in a number of ways in the last month at 52 yards using Federal hollow points. Another must I found is to stick to the same bullet make and model as each different bullet type and manufacturer have different zero points which I found out the hard way!
  3. And if it happened to be a woman reading this!
  4. Funny that this topic came up just now! Since I got my rim fire back a month ago I must have fired close to a 1000 rounds with it in our villages receding and at the beginning of this week myself and my girlfriend went out to pick up all the empty cases we could find. We collected quite a haul believe me but the funniest part was was when she went to put them into a recycling bin in the middle of the nearest town and the bag burst and 100's of spent cases went rolling on the ground!
  5. Left same message advertising pest control in the south lincolnshire wildfowlers on the wash thread in the wildfowling section and on New Guy thread in the new members section. Looks like spam to me.
  6. From cows??? Shit, I've been milking my bull for two years Is that you? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DsN36mz_PA
  7. I had this problem shooting the other day after having two ricochets out of five shots whilst shooting round my house. Needless to say I moved to a more open area as even though the houses round me are fairly spread out it unnerved me enough to go shooting out the back of my house were there are no houses nearby. I did a google search on this and read on some forum that a ricochet should not fly more than 200 yards from the original point of impact when firing with a rim firebut don't know if there is any truth in this. cheers Callum
  8. I received one of them two nights ago as well, read the message and checked the website out but didn't sign up to it cos it did'd look as appealing to me as the hunting life is which also incidentally covers all aspects of hunting and field sports anyway. cheers callum
  9. Hey John I'm currently in the process of learning the capabilities of my rim fire as well at the moment. When you were shooting your rim fire at 100 yards were you using the drop calculator on your scope (if it had any) or did you actually zero your gun at 100 yrds cheers Callum PS saw the short note left for Liam Clancy on your profile. Do you speak Gaelic?
  10. Received my certificate a month ago so got my Winchester model 63 .22 rim fire which l inherited back from my RFD. I also bought an as new Winchester model 70 Ranger in .223 but practising with the rim fire first till l know my stuff. cheers Callum
  11. I reckon it was Elliesmith19 or whatever her name was. After reading about her on the conman forum I looked at her profile at about 10:30 last night and I saw in the bit that tells you what they are currently viewing that she was looking at the members list. I kept on refreshing this page and spent about 1/2 an hour looking at what she was looking at as I thought it strange behaviour. Needless to say she did look up a lot of members profiles. I PM'd the lads who had attempted to buy stuff of her and told them what she / he were doing. Would have also PM'd a mod but could'd see if any of them w
  12. If the task-bar is hidden, point to where you last saw it to show it again. If you can't remember where you last saw it, try pointing to the bottom of the desktop first, and then to the sides or top of the desktop, if necessary. You might need to move the pointer almost off the desktop to show the task-bar. Move the pointer over a blank area of the task-bar e.g. an area with no icons and click on your right mouse button. On the menu that appears click on the properties button. It can be tricky from here as I am unsure which Windows you are using if you are using Windows at all but you are
  13. I left a comment just like this on the forum in December for pretty much the same reason. The cops just seem to take it way to easy, as one comment said that the only thing on their minds is their next cup of tea but I was warned about nudging them or keeping on at them as I put it as you might get on there bad side which l think is good advice. Needless to say got my FAC last week 3 months after handing in my application.
  14. If re blacking is the same as re bluing there are some good videos on You-tube. Just search for blue wonder. I'm thinking of going down this route myself to prep up an air rifle before selling on. cheers Callum

  16. I get all mine from this guy in the USA shomosgunshop@yahoo.com email him tell him what you want, ask him to send as slugs and mark as a gift, at the cost of $32 , this saves on import duties, he can only send you bullet heads and cases, so if you load your on you are cheaper to buy in the states than here, if its factory ammo you want, you can only purchase it on production of your cert. or by getting it sent to an RFD Yes thats what my friend told me, that if I was buying online that I would have to email the seller my cert beforehand. I was'nt planning on going into reloading st

  20. Remembered this from the beginning of the month for the best pics of 2009 of animals eating each other. Pic is of an adult polar bear that had killed and cannibalised a cub. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/earthpicturegalleries/6867693/Pictures-of-the-year-2009-animals-eating-each-other.html?image=28

  22. I personally could'nt believe she'd go as far as to threaten the guys family, place curses on them etc especially in such a public place as youtube! My personal favourite comment of hers was when she threatened to gralloch his whole family!
  23. Maybe not the correct forum to post in but has any one seen the comments left below this video by saint barbara. Its nuts to say the least. I can't believe youtube would allow them.
