  1. As said,I have never worked a full bred on the lamp but get on very well with first crosses and other saluki based lurchers and londogs.I have found that they can take time to learn the job but once on the ball I find them very good lamping dogs. ATB
  2. LOL 140 post in 9 days of being a member on the hunting life most of which preaching!!!!Sure is going to be a popular chap. By the way well said Kay pritty much sums it up as far as I'm concerned obviously a gal who sure knows your stuff. And not a condisending, preaching, Know it all attitude to be seen from you ATB

  4. Cant realy see the need for it all myself mate....I have kept ferrets for over 25 years and always fed them on game wether it be rabbit, pidgeon, pheasant or what ever i can get my hands on all winter and if I do get any probs in the summer I simply feed them on the complete food that I feed my working dogs on. Most of my ferrets live to ripe old ages and are retired from work to see their last years out in peace well before they die. I'm not knocking what your saying fella and each to their own but I am very regularly complemented on the quality condition and nature of my ferrets and this
  5. Everyone that works terriers SHOULD know the law regarding the sport! And thats the long and the short of it ATB
  6. I prefer a saluki x greyhound longdog or a saluki x greyhound based lurcher but as many say if it puts game in the freezer its alright by me. ATB
  7. Cheers bud...LOL dont htink he comes on much now bud.I recon he got some cribbing about breeding his bull crosses and decided being on here wasn't worth the hastle. Not sure why he got so much greef though he had some good looking gear that was doing its stuff by all accounts but you know what its like. ATB
  8. I do and will own and work both dogs and bitches but if I had to choose to keep one or the other the it would be dogs every time for me. I personly find them less deceitfull and beleive it or not in my kennles if it "kicks off" I can nearly always be sure its two bitches at it. I find that you know were you are a little more with a dog than a bitch even though they can be a little harder to keep on top of but having said all of this I have to admit that of all the good working dogs I know probably more than half are bitches. atb
  9. Thanks chap....They do the job for me. The pups nearly 15 months now and coming on a treat with pleanty under his belt for his age ATB
  10. They were, according to Skycat, a mistake mating; but it'll be interesting to see how they turn out. I think a planned mating, say 1/4 Airedale, 3/4 Greyhound could be very handy dogs ! Cheers. Never said owt different mate.just said she had them and by all accounts they are doing well....Wouldn't be the first accidents that turned out good just as many well thought out matings turn out wrong ens. JMHO ATB

  16. As said mate you can use the mrk1 knocker box with the mrk3 collars but I would suggest if you are finding the disco carrot inaccurate then you are not using it correctly fella...Are you using the pin pointer on it to its full caperbility? ATB

  21. I'm affraid not....Dont get me wrong some of my friends that I work my dogs with mean the world to me and I would honestly trust them with my life or give them my last penny but if they asked to run my dogs whist I wasn't there then it would be a straight no wether they liked it or not. I have children that are into dog work aswell and although I let them have the odd slipp with my dogs when they were younger(whilst out with me) they were made to just come along and watch for a couple of seasons to make sure the job was for them and when this was established I bought them their own dogs to w
