  5. well as in the summer its not dark till say 11pm and light again by 4am thats not so suprising... also in the winter whats wrong with going out as soon as its dark???? il often sit out in dusk, nip home for a cuppa and straight out with the lamp.... so if you could enlighten me on why you think its so mad.... and dont make me laugh with the old "give them time to get out and about"
  6. thats simple to answer.... things are not always how they seam
  7. i thought the whole idea of flock guard dogs was that they stayed with the sheep 24/7, basically becoming one of the flock??? nice to see the shepard / camera man videoing the wolfs doing sheep instead of trying to do something about it... another set up video me thinks

  13. Wilf you never fail to crack me up
  14. so your saying unless mink hounds are less than a few minutes behind a mink they wont speak on it ?? or have i read yor post wrong
  15. your going off topic he is asking about catch rates not what you think is hunting and what isnt....but yes in days gone by , if you saw 10 not running them all, and taking 3 from that 10 singlehanded you would have been doing ok.... certainly more realistic than some figures iv heard quoted on here
  16. These were very large fields , lamping from the road and slipping dogs once fox spotted or called and I think using bull crosses. If you were shooting these foxes you would have cleaned up !!! in that case so should they
  17. 1... yes butoften paper work is more hassel than its worth , we quali for a grant to do corvids and foxs, 4 figures per year, but this is because were in a core area for cappacallie 2..basc or the sga ... 3..no 4..rooks, shoot branchers in may jacks in a ladder trap(although modifications to stop them escaping may be needed, feeding up a shooting site in april may time has always worked well 4 me, but nothing is sure fire by any means 5 .. yes in therie, but rabbits leave a area / dont enhabit it for a reason , but as its illegal il not go there 6.. tunnel trap bait , so
  18. is that one of those with shit parentage :black eye: ???? i presume thats one of tiggers ??? its looking well
  19. well, most on here will tell you they only ran them single handed and caught say 90 percent but most ran them doubled up, in the day time bushing etc id have expected 9 out of 10 ... night time its down to the man thats had the dogs in his hands, a sensible slipper should be getting 7 or 8 out of 10, a gun ho chav with blood on his mind slipping at anything no matter how close to cover would have only been getting 2 or 3 out of 10 if that, these are the folk i mentioned in my first sentence..... (then there was the folk that chace them with a car and a dog , but thats a different story )
  20. who knows, only time will tell, but after all the stick mark has taken on the forums id be lieing if i said i wouldnt be happy to see him win, he may be big headed or what ever but he has taken alot of unnessisary stick, most of it from folk that dont even know him... as for ldr he has been out with a good pal of mine who speaks very highly of him, a real genuine bloke.. so good luck to them both
  21. well the old dog vs gun.... i do both, but its a fact that most rifle men will stick to there permissioned ground there for limiting the amount they can take in say one night, but dog men can cover miles and miles and miles in one night taking far mor per outing than the rifle man can.... just thought id put that into the mix
  22. well done... fingers crossed you find some ground that holds plenty of bunnies to run the final on, some of the heats seam to have been run on ground that has not yeilded many...
  23. dont know but shot a roe doe with LOADS of the same on it a few weeks back
