  1. offshore drilling? I'm not sure I could ever go back offshore/overseas, sick of being away from home etc. I now work from home but on half the money so I end up working twice the days which is pretty bad. I hate being a slave to money
  2. Funny how oil peaked at $150 a barrel in 2008 and petrol was 108 a litre yet now it's only $90 a barrel but we're paying 134 a litre!!! It is partly because of hedge funds that look to make money from trading commodities they all jumped on the oil/gas/gold band wagon when the recession started as trading made up crap like sub-prime debt went down the toilet.
  3. You must be about 40 Baw?
  4. It seems like a way of keeping people dependant on the state as well which I really hate.
  5. talk about going round in circles right, i wave a magic wand and everybody on benifit gets a job overnight do you think "A" the benifit bill will magically be gone and you will pay any less or "B" the benifit bill will rise dramatically and you will be paying more Benefits wont disappear because of the tax credit, which is a way of reducing the tax bill of certain people to nothing while stopping higher earners benefiting from a tax cut...it makes sense to me in a way. The benefit system will not disappear if everyone had a job. I doubt the bill would rise though because it should and

  7. When my taxes have to go up because of someone who is irresponsible it annoys me. Same way I get annoyed when my insurance goes up because of other people. This woman is in the group of people who don't give a crap and expects the country to fund their lifestyle. It is about morals and ethics, I don't mind forking out tax for a safety net or to help people worse off than me. She continued to pump out kids without trying to pay for their upbringing, she didn't magically wake up one day with 11 kids she carried on having them. She could ahve had a job with 1 kid or 2 or even three
  8. Because we have to pay for it Paulus
  9. Yeh I couldn't agree more about the dads. But I wouldn't mind childcare costing the tax payer more if she was working because that would truly be helping her and she would at least show she was trying. Handing out cash doesn't help anyone. My missus has to work, our poor daughter gets put in breakfast club and after school club we hardly see her. Grand parents have to chip in to as well.
  10. Yeh that is fecking insane. The should raise the taxable allowance to way more than what it is now probably 25,000 and take away or reduce the tax credits. But then they would have to get rid of those poor public sector workers on their lovely final salary pensions.
  11. I'm defo not jealous but since I seem to spend most of the time handing over huge chunks of money to the tax man it boils my blood that it is being used to fund a lifestyle choice rather than helping people who are just down on their luck. I have no problem helping people providing they help themselves first. She could get a job in a shop and still get most of the benefits and council house...then no one would be complaining.
  12. The horror I experienced when I discovered they stopped making 512 Jeans still haunts me today... I am stubbornly still wearing my last pair even though they got a large hole in them. They are so comfy but I look like a tramp
  13. Child mortality was much higher as well and also more boys meant they could go out to work and bring home money for the family. Can you imagine that happening these days? IPople like this woman should work anyway even if they continue to get the benefits. Its about morality and bringing your kids up with a work ethic. All people out of work shouldn't be tarred with the same brush though, this woman seems to have made a lifestyle choice to not work and instead have more and more kids to increase her wellfare payments.
  14. I'd Learn to shoot first then get some experience in the field like a full season and then think about a dog after you know what is going on. Rough shooting can be dangerous and you need to be paying attention all the time to where your shot will be going and also you need to observe what is going on around you. If you are fairly new to the sport having a dog will be a nightmare and spoil your fun. Sports like this are a long term goal in my opinion and it can take a few years to get the experience and then the permission. You might want to look for a syndicate to join, you will ge
  15. I'll be getting my fly rods out and going fishing with my dad as soon as it warms up a little.
  16. I've yet to meet a woman yet good with money lol My mum was brilliant with money she had my poor dad living on a tenner a week when he was working in scotland
  17. Well there's a way of saving money...sack the careers advisors! People who've never had a real job telling others what they should do to get one
  18. What is pissing most people off is that she is getting a purpose built house worth 210 grand when many people could only dream of that. My brother and his missus are working themselves to death just to get the deposit for a mortgage. That woman should be doing something for her money, even if she works in a shop and then gets benefits to top her up at least she would have some morals. What made me laugh is that she had done some kind of course so she could set up her own business having never worked a day in her life....why do these people have such ridiculous expectations? Start off
  19. How many working families can get a mortgage for £210,000 The system broken when people out of work are better off than those in work.
  20. I have a good Delia Smith recipe that my dad gave me, it uses hot water pastry and you will need venison and streaky bacon as well. He makes amazing game pies! If you want send me a PM to remind me and I'll scan it and post it on your thread... Remind because I will forget
  21. They don't even turn up to work and get paid!!! House of commons debates they all have to shuffle behind the person speaking so it doesn't look empty when they are talking
