  1. Maybe the fields are being worked hard, and not just by you?
  2. Hi RS. Sadly, I did not keep a log of the hours spent making it. What I do remember is.....once the design and shape were finalised, things came together fairly quickly. You become absored with the whole thing.....time just flys by Are you thinking of making one yourself? ATB. Bill.
  3. Hi Viz. Sounds like you could be shooting over ground which is quite open? Most planted fields are a waste of time shooting, as they are normaly planted edge to edge, no verges to work. But.....when they are harvested, there should be some good pigeon action, and a bit of bunny activity. All I could suggest is....keep the wind/breeze in your face, approach your permission/ quarry accordingly, dont wear deoderant/aftershave,wash your kit in rain water no soap or detergents etc, break up your shape, be carful of your silohete, use the natural cover if possible, i.e.stay tight to hed

  20. Aye up. My friend Rich and I had a look over at one of our permissions yesterday afternoon. We have recently gained another 240 acres (approx), so we had a drive up over a few of the new fields, having a look about, mainly to get aqainted with the new surroundings, and look for the signs of bunnies. We then made our way to another part of our existing permission, and got set up ready for a mooch. Had to borrow my mates hat........left mine at home Off we set, Richard took the high ground, and I skirted the bottom ground, moving from field to field. Not a lot going on at fi

  23. Hi Mac. Sorry to hear about your hand, hope all is well again soon. Took some balls to admit this on an open forum, and is a good reminder to us all how important safe gun handling is. Some of us had it drilled into us in the services, but still, negledgent discharges did occur, not often mind you. No one is an exception to the rule, could happen to any one of us. Mate of mine shot one of his toes off in Northern Ireland in the 70s, 7.62 resting on his boot......never did it again Get well soon. ATB. Bill.
  24. Hi Jamie. :welcomeani: to THL. Congrats on the squirrels.....nice shooting. Nice looking rifle you have there too Good luck and hunting on your new permission. ATB. Bill.
  25. Wello Buster. What a bummer mate, the scratches dont look that deep in the picture.....bonus. Im no cabinet maker, but.... I would go the 1000 grade wire wool and stock oil route as you have already mentioned. Bit of time and patience should see the back of them. Good luck with it..............clumsey get!!! ATB. Bill.
