do pitBULLS OR kerry blues have a lock jaw , or any outher dog
fresh earth replied to a topic in General Talk
To be fair its faf all to do wit the dogs drive agression or any other bullcrap .... Its all in the muscle located in said animals jaw and how they apply it for instanse i recently watched a test done on a bull terrier a am bulldog a mastiff and a rotty the rotty had more power measured in lb per square inch anyone on here will happily boast about the power and drive in the bullterrier so surely it should have won hands down but it was third after the ab to .i would also say that a jrt had more drive and agression than the averege dogue debor or mastiff although i doubt very much of you would -
This is a sad site getting . I firmly agree people need to get a damn life and stop badgering people christ surely any potential buyer is who is to decide on whether the price is ok or not . As for not many old tyme stuff left i guess you refer to a real bullterrier as apose to the fat shite the country is over run with ... If so there are plenty about just twats with mouths and ignorance dont get to know about the good uns ! I would have thought a few photo's would help with the sale and anyone selling a happy healthy pup nowadays should be showing it of to help with the sale even the tw

I agree they sertainly do the job mate i especialy like fence hoppers blue bitch one of the nicest blue's i have seen and i have alot of experience with the breed. As i say the only thing that put me of is the fact there ped is saturated with sooty sam. Even my show ped bitch is happy as larry out in the elements they lie quite happily with no heat and absolutely love the snow. Im alos not a fan of these 22 and 23" whippets people are on about now the bottom line is the breed standard is maximum 21" and the size and shape of alot of the dogs nowadays is very unlike the type of dog the whippet

I find it amusing when people say mike browns line has drive because the bottom line is every line of whippet i have ever owned or seen in action has had as much drive as the last or next one. The only thing that changes in the lines is the look style and ability they all have the urge to chase and every whippet is capable of catching rabbits. Some lines however have thinner coats and knock up easy others have a more dense coat and take a bump no bother. Its more the way the dog is entered that will determin the way it producess the goods in its working life obviously coat and other factors c

To be fair a good whippet has enough balls to take pritty much anything only problem is they mark up easily with sharp ended quarry. Never been a fan of the sooty sam saturated whippets so have never realy been keen on mikes line. Although a few on here have whippets from his line that i do think are very nice examples of the breed. I run a few bitch's from various breeding and all excell in the field and have regularly taken more than rabbits and not one of mine have been shy to get stuck inabout cover or felt the cold to badly. a mate of mine has a collie whippet bitch on a chain she has a litter of 8 pups all lived till now and never left her side she is on a chain always has been shes three and a half and works well ... he also has a collie greyhound dog of 6 who has always lived in his yard on a chain with a kennel and he is still working fine . Wouldnt be my choice i would worry about injury to much but obviously suits some people and its down to them aslongs they feed there dogs and get them out they can keep them how they like aslongs theres a water tight shelter .

Working Whippet pups @ a working mans price
fresh earth replied to ADAM C's topic in Working Dogs & Livestock
Good combination because the bitch is quiet in the house and the dog is doing well for a 12 month old ... Any dog of mine would have only just been entered at this stage no way could anyone say a 12 month old pups doing well enough to be bred from . Secondly as for not knowing if the tied why the hell is a 12 month old pup loose or kenneled with a bitch thats on the break ? All the above aside pups look healthy as does the sire . -
Spot on brother bitch is a nice shape as is the sire and the breedings there . Keep me posted ill ring later on. Kris

Must be in ire id have that broken coat dog the others look timid . No need for crap in there runs like that just a carry on .

What other dogs/pets do you have other than the working dogs?
fresh earth replied to MoChara's topic in General Talk
Couple of latino love birds a few tanks of various wild caught livebearers and apistogramma a few killi fish and the 3 ferrets. Used to have 2 fish houses one with 82 tanks and one wish 22 aswell as 4 big flights for various fresh water tropicals and parakeets. -
Cane corso ... Italian mastif. Cracking dogs i had one a few years back have been after another for a while now from working background not hunting type work. Whats the price of a pup and what colours have you got ?

There all different mate some settle straight away others never seem to get there i would just put them out day time and put a radio in the kennel should be ok then gradualy leave them out longer and longer they might settle right away. I never throw water on them and would say whatever you do dont dows a dog in cold water from a hose when the weathers turning never mind a dog thats used to the warmth of a house i can assure you the only thing that will come is at the least a very cold and frightend dog and more than likely vets bills for various obvious problems a wet dog in freezing conditio

Initial thoughts after years of breeding fresh water tropicals i would have said also dropsy but tbh if you keep koi of that standard you will be more than capable of diagnosing dropsy although to me that would have been my initial thoughts. Kris

fresh earth replied to fresh earth's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs

Had a couple of hours out this morning with my black bitch not been able to get her out this week due to mucking about with work and pups so set of at 7am to a bit permision iv had for years with two young lads. Done a big banking but was murder rabbits bolting from hole to hole and there must be 100+ holes on this field along a hill side so we called it quits at 1 rabbit and moved over to a small wood where we done two sets wee had my old jill and a few youngsters with us today young ones were prity poor not doing much and refusing to go deep but my jill located 2 in a small 6 hole set took h

If out walking and play fighting let them get on with it kennel situation is totaly diff. I never keep terriers in same sex pairs no matter what i also match dogs with who they best get on with. Any that im unsure about are kenneled alone although never had this bother as my dogs are kept in a pack style my older whip is always on top of pups and im obviously pack leader so when need be i step in asert my authority but always make sure the pup knows i back the bitch pups respect each other better and rarely need a telling.
