Them and sugar gliders have been around years mate just a matter of time till the pet shops started suppose if we didnt already have gerbals and hamsters we may have been saying the same at that though as if there aint enough neglected animals on the bloody planet now showers of twats will be breeding them for the sake of the price tag ! As you say what next !

Speed aint the be all and end all no use when the dogs a rocket that only goes in a straight line and runs into everything... Pure whippet for me everytime fast smart alert highly driven with a temprement second to none.

I there were some cracking set ups like i have a 6x4 shed with a 4x2 raised bed with an 8x4 run for the big dogs then 2 5x3 runs with 2x3 beds for the wee dogs also got a 6x4 hut that i use as a feed and bedding store come whelping room. All for the expensive price of 20 bux lol theres 2 shed builders yards in my wee town so seing as im in for sawdust weekly and friendly with the lads they keep the decent huts they take down and all it cost me was delivery for the two huts and one of the lads got me some 2x2 and decent galvy mesh for the runs. Got the roof sheets for nix too from a removal job

Some will be in a rescue centre as they werent suitable as pets as they matured so probs wont have even had a look at anything and in some cases in my opinion thats better than a dog thats been shown to much to soon

Liked the look of that last time i saw it keano ill be putting concrete block up when i move easyer cleaning etc and obviously no rot

100% agree wouldnt be giving him any more than 2-3 20-30 min walks a day and would only be of for one of these walks as to me to much excersise to young is asking for bother and would never give a dog road work to help with fitness until at least 12 months usualy id just let the dog get fit with short runs of the leash and start road work at 18 months so i know the dogs fully grown and ready to take the strain after all you wouldnt advise a youngster to do much at all in the gym till at the very least 16 and even at that not alot. Also looks slightly like rickets to me in the second pik seen a

fresh earth replied to matt241075's topic in Working Dogs & Livestock
Nice dogs and well put together ad makes a fine change at least your breeding dogs that have proven themselfs over a good few seasons not only in the field on quarry but against other lurchers. Good luck with the sale -
Are you for real i run 3 kc registered whippet bitch's i work them in woodland on rocky hills and various other terrain from a coast line to a railway bank and my two 3 year olds have never gave me a problem barr my bridnle dropping a muscle while lamping a golf course my younger bitch is show stock and i mean champion show stock and she is the fastest dog in my kennel with anbelievable stamina. Although i do trot my dogs for at least 5 hours a week along side my pushbike or on a chip road between two of my farms so this keeps them fit and in working condition i dont debate a fat ped whippet t

I have/had a half x dog Bobby yes cracking dog works with ferrets happily but reason for me having him is/was i needed something i could take "other" game with when this was legal... my best mate has the mother to the pup who is a pure bred whippet i gave him the bitch as he had lost his old dog and i had 3 other working bitchs so could lose 1 easyer than he could and she still belongs to me we lined her with bobby as both fancyed a bitch i will openly admit that i only wanted a bitch pup for the sake of having a broken coated dog in the kennel cause realisticaly a 17" 3/4 beddy 1/4 whippet is

I wouldnt worry mate wouldnt be that if the thing was killing your prize british birds through an avairy's mesh. Hate the things doubt it will be in your yard again.

Ah i see , well that is a little closer right enough im still about 2 hours or so away but that deff makes it more worth a thought . I like the look of this wee dog but am a bit torn between her or the 1st brindle whipp x beddy and it was a lurcher i was after initialy tbh if either or are still available when your coming upto dunfries id be interested in one . I aint in any real hurry as i have the whippet for this season anyway so as i say if eather are still there when your coming up give me a shout wouldnt fuss me much which it were as i could find a use for eather next season . Im in fife mate central scotland so a fair bit up mate. The others are more the type i am after anyhow looking for something for the rabbits got my two whippet bitch's at the moment had 2 lurchers last year but i have always ended up buying something already started and they have ended up that they have been carrying an injury so have decided it will be a pup next as had my whippets from pups and never had a problem . Sure someone will snap this wee bitch up to they make handy ratting and mooching dogs seen a half fell half whippet and she hardly missed a bolting rabbit when we were out s

I know what you mean mate its terrible i have to buy tripe myself 2 whole tripe for about £8 aint to bad but to feed half a dozen or more dogs a tripe dont go far at all. These pups will be ideal for any decent dog man i would much rather buy in a dog thats lay in a bed been fed and left to come on than a dog thats been entered stupidly too young . Again good luck the pups are a credit and any true dog men will know this .

Again cracking wee dog pitty your so far down . kris

Dogs look clean and fed considering the circumstances thats all that matters most greyhounds run loose with little or no contact till a year old then once schooled sell for thousands much better of with one of these than a pup exactly the same thats had to much excersise etc. If the dog pup at the bottom had been a bitch id have been interested and £100 would be steeling one of these in my opinion. Good luck with finding them homes . kris.

If that bitch is still there come the weekend ill have the mrs bring me down for a look is that both sire and dam in the piks mate ?

Personaly see nothing this cross has to contribute to the working world that the working whippet dont already less speed and a supposed little more hardness any decent whippet is as game as alot of terriers . That said the little dog is a cracking looking thing my best mate has a half x she is 17" hairy wee bugger keens mustard and takes rabbits but dont have the geers my whippet does and she tires quicker.

anyone ever had a dog with no stamina??
fresh earth replied to scotty2306's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I totaly agree but in all fairness the greyhound was used as any lurcher is today before the track days they are a diff type nowadays and i do agree thats why the introduction of other dogs and the lurcher was done but there would have been a time any greyhound could have caught a rabbit a hare and tackle a fox now and then with ease but them days are gone . -
any advice on my pup after injury
fresh earth replied to teddybear's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
No need for name calling realy . At the end of the day if the lad has seen others with dogs that have been "working" from 6 months its unevatable he is going to think thats the done thing untill something like this happens. I wouldnt say you have went out your way to hurt the dog injure the dog and tbh i doubt the thought of an injury would have even come into your head as i know all to weel the great feeling of seing your young dog coming on and getting a run. I would say that i personaly wouldnt let any dog run under 12 months of age and tbh wouldnt even run alot at that age depending on the -

fresh earth replied to scotty2306's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I backed the hound up as i said every pure hounds a different beast to the next i have seen hundreds as a parader and some could run 800yrd races twice a week even though no one obviously ever races a hound over 800yrds twice a week but some would have happily most lurchers are only running 100-200 max each slip with a break inbetween so a hound of that capability could do easy ten 100yrd slips getting its break inbetween. As for the whippet coment i have owned them all my life and ill never have a kennel without a couple i can walk all day ferreting hills and they will still be happy to t -
Neather my peddy whippet bitch marks sets my mates terriers and lurcher take no notice of iv seen my mate blast through a large sand banking and not bolt a thing him and dog moving on hopeless young ferrets pissing around the tops of the hole then my bitch takes a bit interest passes a few holes and stands with the head to the side in go's one jill after his two located nout 5-10 mins later the bitch is still marking strong few mins later out come half a dozen just under the halfling and 2 big milky doe's the bitch picked to but by the time his three terriers and collie x got back the rest wer
