  1. Sounds a bit of a dodgy one mate at the end of the day the only way to be 100% clear on the sire would be a photo of the mating. I have seen bullx reach that size but to be fair if indeer the dam was 23" and the sire 28" then i would have expected the bitche's to make between 24-26" and dogs around the 26" mark. With the fact it was his girl you were left to deal with it kind of sums it up if you ask me. At least the dog is doing well for you and your happy with it regardless of her origins . Regards kris
  2. Mate a racing greyhound is just starting its career at this age i had a bitch in at 18 month that wouldnt look at a thing was in a home with cats etc within 3 weeks out mooching with the others it was as keen as the next. As stated hardest thing would be stock breaking but if you have permision without live stock i wouldnt worry either way id personaly still work her
  3. go to a shed/timber yard mate 2 here where i am i have had 6 or more sheds of them for nout over the years old ones they take down they keep any decent ones for you then youl get a shed and then break a few down to get framing cheap and may not look the best but itl get the job dun i have 3 decent sized run systems and a decent shed all in i think cost me about 20 quid just got the stuf of mates family and stumbled apon other stuff. A few mates have knocked decent runs up with haris fencing of building sites so again cost next to nout if you know any lay around somewhere ... kris
  4. I personaly would inform my land owner and have him put the guy straight after all you only have permision to work the land realisticly its faf all to do with you who else is on it its down to the owner to do something about it there not slow to shift you around here.
  5. Was going to say that i dont agree with breeding these above standard dogs for exactly those reasons. I also think its good to get along to racing in the summer keeps them fit and get a crack with other whippet lovers.
  6. Personaly anything over breed standard should be classed as a fault its far to comon to hear about peoples 23" whippets the breed should be small compact dogs of no more than 21". Also think its a disgrace some of the faults that are apearing down to the lack of real thought and research going into some breedings.
  7. Line breeding could be as close as father to daughter and has produced very good dogs when done correctly for the correct reason.
  8. Hope that wasnt aimed at me .... Point there would be what exactly as knowing when to do what in a working line is from what i gather from most on here all down to choosing the right parents whom are both workers from workers so if he dont work his own dogs and its them he is choosing to breed your surely stating that he is specificaly choosing non working dogs to produce workers ? so in reality it wouldnt give a toss when he out crossed as its non working crap he is putting the outcross over anyway ????????
  9. I have sat back and watched this for a few days bottom line is his dogs do take rabbits well not his own dogs but his pups do all i will say on the matter is that any other whippet regardless of its breeding will do exactly the same if reared correctly. I personaly prefer the old coursing type wippet the long fine made type not the small almost bully type we call THE WORKING WHIPPET but in reality to find a true well bred one now is not an easy feet. Also what nimrodel dogs were these out of as i have personaly been out with three dogs of that line and all worked very well together as a group
  10. Pups will be 13 weeks sat and the bitch i have is 15" just over it the now and 15.8lb just had her on the skales at the vets shes huge. Whats the percentages of that pup delboy p he does have the same sort of look what hight is yours and how old ? Heres his litter sister
  11. He is a fine looking pup garry he was always a forward pup . Size wise i was hopefull they wouldnt go over 23" but as stated there both 15" or more at the moment so think they will probably be between 23 and 25. Sure a bloody head ache at this age crush is back to the vets this evening with her kneck least its not her legs she is knocking i suppose lol. The jackets in the cupboard for when bobs down this way. Have you had paddy running much with the weather bob ?
  12. I have no idea who no1 jibber is so have no quarrals with the guy though he seems to with me so he is welcome to pm me with any problem he has. As bob says this was a post to keep people involved upto date with how the pups coming on so keep it that way. Pup has the same look about him as his sister there very switched on pups hope he isnt into everything like crush she now has a swollen kneck after jumping over my black bitch and landing on it the bloody nutter she's now on anti inflamitory still as switched on as ever and keen as mustard ill get a few pictures of her up tomorow.
  13. Im not talking about genuine whippet owners happy with there dogs its other people who have no first hand experience because they hear things from others personaly i couldnt give a toss your way of the mark and to be fair if thats how you want to be thats fair enough anyone whom has met me will know that im no bullshiting peedler and that i put more work into each and every one of the dogs i own than most put into there family.I also dont own a whippet dog and have never once studed any dog i have owned. At the end of the day if people want to buy a dog from the man bash on. Seing as i know so
  14. He is sure looking well garry glad he is turning out good crush is 15" aswel the now and into everything. No1 jibber this pup was "reared" by me not bred a friend of mine had problems with space so i took the litter on for him and for your information made nothing from the litter except maybe a new mate after garry traveled up for his pup.
  15. No1 jibber how would you know who i was after a month on the site clearly wee all need to sit back and think who are you .... Secondly im in kinks here just back to page ten and my remark about the tiny whippet and fox's its a bloody joke your all in another planet i was taking the piss out of the garbage your all spouting. Its was advice on the line and i gave mine i didnt start any gash about 23" dogs 2" over breed standard nor did i go on about bully looking whippets to me a whippet it what it states on the standard not what someone else thinks a whippet should look like for the fi
  16. Here we go do all you idiots live in the real world and do any of you read the posts ? i have stated more than 3 times now on this thread i dont knock his dogs or the guy its the fact every twat in bloody britain tells the next that if you want a working whippet buy one from a man who people openly talk about not working his dogs and extensively inbreeding his already inbred stock. Now never once have i said i was not kreet infact anyone on here who has had any actual atention over the last few years knows this is not a secret. Secondly i have kept whippets since i was first alowed my own dog
  17. What the hell the size of any other breed has to do with this post or any whippets capability i have no idea i agree this topics went like the rest. Only thing i will say is i have seen a fair few whippets take over 20 rabbits regularly with no quarals maybe the land is more suited to them here but its not a hard task if there run properly and on the land i work i have tried various crosses all unsuitable in comparison. Also have to say best fox dog i ever had was a 16" non ped ... Come one get a grip wtf go's through some peoples heads no one stated a whippet with more power than a bullx stam
  18. I am after a decent bullterrier bitch have been on the look out for a pup but nothing decent enough has come up as yet any chance of sending a few pictures to my email i would be interested and wouldnt have a problem driving down for her if she is a decent enough stamp she would be kenneled but would see plenty work . email klee-86@live.com as i say would need to be a decent type but would be happy enough to leave the boy a few quid for her or yourself do you think she would be pritty vocal if she was kenneled and is she sound among other dogs ?
  19. agree i always keep mine paired at this time of year although its obvious some dogs wont kennel with another in which case plenty bedding and there happy as larry
  20. Yeah was thinking at 6 months she will get the odd turn of the leash on flat open ground she wont see anything till she is a year or so in no real hurry. Her coats just like zac and her dams right wooly she is like her mother and a bit nuts at times. Hope you all have a good xmas and new year to and im sure zac and his pup will get a few for the pot. Ill not get mine out the grounds a shambles here just a walk and some lessons for the pup she is one of the easyest pups to train sits retrieves and heals as well as the black bitch cant realy fault the pup and she has cracking strong fee
  21. High protein greyhound meal with a good quality meat and i feed fish 3 times a week whole raw fish of various types mine eat whatever i give them and as said above i just go by eye feed them all the same when they come then adjust acordingly to raise or drop the weight.
  22. A spoiled can still chase quarry. Snow around you ? ice ? Maybe the dogs been run on hard ground fingers crossed its just burst pads he has as stated usualy a reason for someone getting shot. Although alot will be sick there not getting out the now so alot of dogs being moved around. Nice big beast either way mate .
  23. Kennel mine in 3' square box beds double with a double skin raised of the ground with more bedding than needed never had a problem with the cold have a pup around 12 weeks more than happy cuddled into another dog in plenty bedding she has a cracking thick coat was born outside was under heat till 6 weeks then gradualy the heat was lowered i prefer a small box bed as i think it holds the heat better than a large open space. In regards to larger breeds i have different set ups with 6x4' bedding areas with a rased box bed inside that and ample run space on all my kennels. Not to forget the anti t
  24. Bottom line im 24 iv only worked whippets for 12 years and raced greyhounds since i can remember i dont debate that a man breeding longer than i have lived will have forgoten more than i know but when im his age ill know more than he ever did. Secondly i have said i have no quaral with mb or his line what i am saying is all lines will take rabbits in correct ownership its bloody comon knowledge. Now i am not jelous of the man i have no need to be i breed for completely different reasons and am getting extremely good rewards for the time effort and presice breeding of my own dogs i never have a
