  1. Yes, I think I'll have to - I need the post code too. Are you going Gin?
  2. I can honestly say that I have learned a great deal from this post, if I run out of raw food for my ferts in future Im not going to feel bad about it anymore. I will continue to strive to provide it though. My dogs wont touch raw though did try them but they both walked away from their bowls They seem fine on the dry stuff I feed them though. Very good post and responses.
  3. Thanks MOLLY, it looks like we'll have some great fun come the season!!
  4. I went today and started off at the Cricket Club, the man who I got the permission off informed us that there was the cricket club field and the surrounding fields!! We had a general mooch about there but didnt see much evidence of rabbits He mentioned that there has been Myxi there lately and he's been getting rid of dead rabbits but said he'd still seen a few lively rabbits about the place. Lamping may be the best bet I think We went from there to the Golf course (Another new permission ) we spoke to the greenkeeper who thanked us for asking for permission instead of poaching Ther
  5. My mates daughters boyfriend :11: :11: Im just pleased I was dressed when I got up!! Not that he woke up mind!! Neither did the dogs! Molly the lakeland nearly shit herself when I walked through the door though
  6. I got up at 2pm today (Night shift) and found this on my sofa (So much for dogs not being allowed on it!!) When the cats away eh
  7. So do I I think the cover may be a bit thick when I get there tomorrow but I need to know the lay of the land and work out what best method to use I'll be going from there to the other two permissions Ive just got to do a reccy and have a general mooch about with the dogs. If they're all they are cracked up to be then my ferts will have a busy season ahead
  8. Thats a good point actually, I feed my ferrets as much raw as possible and only use dry food in an absolute emergency But I feed my dogs dry food and never raw. All the people Ive spoken to about what food is best have always said RAW food for ferrets and to be honest Ive just done what they said - mainly because I havent had ferrets very long and wanted to learn from experienced ferreters. Yet dry dog food seems to be more acceptable This will be an interesting thread I think
  9. Good luck whatever you decide to get, Im sure it will be going to a loving home
  10. I suppose best practice would be September, but if you have permission and the land owner wants you to get rid - then what else can you do?
  11. She is just being over protective as she has the kits she will get back to normal in a few weeks Thats just what I was thinking too.
  12. Thats exactly what I do too, they had a large rat tonight and I try and give them a varied selection each night there's usually a little left in the morning which tells me they have eaten enough or it would all be gone? I dont have much bother with flies either as they dont tend to be around at night My fat jill has lost weight and looks much better now and they generally seem much happier little ferts. I would only feed dried food if there was absolutely no other option and at times I have been in that situation, they seem to like it ok but they guzzle gallons of water and their poo is awfu
  13. When I had my old ferret set up they used to use a litter tray, but I honestly think that was due to the fact it was such a tight fit and they couldnt move it! They did try mind. After about two weeks of picking poo up and placing it in the litter tray they eventually got the message. (I did clean it out during those two weeks mind ) I now have a different set up that has a court for them to play in just under the bedding area, I have raised it about 0.5cm off the ground so that its easy to clean out - I hose and disinfect the latrine area daily and its so easy. I guess Im quite lucky that t
