After last weeks disastrous ferreting trip on my new permission I managed to squeeze an hour in this morning. 6 bolted from holes I hadnt even seen But I managed to catch 2! both in the 5 foot purse nets so they were a good investment Next week my long nets should be here and Im going to give that a try. Here's a pic.

  9. Thats fantastic news! I had a similar issue and the jill that was constantly attacking the kit is now her best friend! Like you say - Never give up! It takes a lot of time and effort but its well worth it in the end!! Well done to you

  16. It registered between 4 and 6 foot at one point. The ferrets were popping out of holes I didnt even know where there I'm going better prepared next week mind - bigger nets, more purse nets, carpet tape for my friends mouth and hopefully a longnet

  18. I was up, dressed and out for 6.30am with two of my jills. I'd had a good look around my new permission on the sand dunes the other day so I had a good idea where to get started, I even watched a rabbit enter the burrow I was going to put the ferts in . Collars on, nets set and off we go. The 7 month old jill entered without a hitch, she did come out doing a war dance a few times but after the initial excitement she was in the sets for a good while The older jill was straight down without any bother. I waited and waited, heard loads of thudding but nothing bolted After about 30 mins I put
