  3. I would have asked the same question once too. That photo was just the beginning and I only put it up to give some idea to the person asking the question at the start of the thread When we finished setting up just about every hole was covered with a purse net - we only didn't cover them all because we ran out of nets. We had lurchers with us ready to spring into action for any escapees that came out of the sections that werent netted, we had to sort of split the whole set which was 10 times that size in to sections and after putting four ferrets down we still caught none - but we had a grea
  4. Here's one of my 25 yard nets with a pole every 5 yards.
  5. The belief is that the guy(retired civil servant) died after picking it up on his feet from puddles round a swimmin pool where rats had been seen at night. Your Post might literally save someone's life! Jeepers! What a bloody shame, poor soul I think Ive frightened my friend into action but it certainly sounds like it was necessary.
  6. Incredably WELL SAID! Much as I try to operate a minimal poison policy It's minimal exposure policyfor me when it comes to rats.Traps= exposure( every time I handle, rebait and do dailychecks etc )to real danger and the fact that a trapping campaign tends to continue longer than a poisioning attack extends the risk .ElfnSafety demands minimal exposure to risk not parlour games with bits of bent metal. If I sound a bit "straight",sorry ,but a mate of me Dad died of Weils before Christmas. How awful I think people dont realise (Me included ) Just how dangerous rats can be. Im certainly gla
  7. It was the people her house insurance company told her to go through so they obviously get a lot of jobs that way - not the best way to run a business IMO I spoke with her today and she has environmental health going out, phew!!
  8. I put my finger through the mesh to stroke my mates ferrets and one of them bit me by the time they were rabbiting a few days later I was handling them all fine and got no more bites.
  9. Good. It drives me round the bend trying to read it! I wish my ferrets would drag rabbits out for me! It would save my good mate longdogrunner from a lot of digging.
  10. Oh god  i would just die   I would be like Forrest Gump running across the fields!!
  11. She fell out with the pest control on the phone - apparently they laughed at her and were sarcastic Ive told her to phone the council and have tried (Without frightening her too much) to tell her about the dangers of rats with all the diseases they carry etc. Perhaps I should take a stronger stance with her after reading that!? I'll go straight round to hers in the morning and let her read this post. Cheers guys.
  12. Im selling my Night Detective Pegasus 5 Night Vision Monocular. Here's the link to read all about it http://www.microglobe.co.uk/catalog/produc...ision-monocular It was a present Ive had since January and Ive only used it once. Its in immaculate condition. It cost £169 last month. I'm selling it for £150 posted. PM me for more information. Cheers. Edited to add, I'd be more than happy to swap it for a 100yard speedset longnet and basket or 3 mark 3 ferret collars.
  13. They are selling them at GAME for £65 at the minute. They are reconditioned but great.
  14. Hi all, my mate has a rat problem in her house at the minute. She says there's only one but there's sure to be more. She's having building work done and actually lives right next door to a builders merchant. A rat came out of a hole at the bottom of the wall and made its way into the next room via some chocolate which was on a work bench, she and her husband have seen one a few times over the last few days. Ive set my mink trap with chocolate near the entry/ exit hole and its been there for two nights now with no success?? What am I doing wrong? Any advice will be very much appreciated Ra
