  1. Ive made a few alterations since the last pictures so I thought I'd post them. I did this myself and even had to cut the size of the hutch down to fit So Im well chuffed at how good it is - this is the cub to house my jill when she's ready to give birth and to eventually house the hob (to be vasectomised) Im hoping to get from the litter. And here's a few pics of them at play.
  2. I heard it on the news, what a relief. BBC News 24 are reportning that she was found under a bed with the man who was keeping her They are also saying that he is part of her extended family.
  3. Oh dear Whilst I'm sure the ferret rescue had the best interest of the hob in mind I think they should have waited for at least a week before doing something as drastic as that What was their rationale for acting so fast?
  4. It was an absolute doddle He really has done a super job of them.
  5. After last weeks near disaster whilst out ferreting and almost losing one of my mark3 collars due to it slipping off my ferrets neck I decided to get some leather ones instead. I asked DDD off here to see what he could do and he made me some brilliant replacement collars. Im much more confident about using them now and I bet longdogrunner is pleased too as he had to dig for 3 hours to get my lost collar last week
  6. I'll second that Ripstop! I got a game carrier from him a couple of weeks back and its brilliant! He's also just made me some replacement leather collars for my mk3's. The guy is a genius with leather
  7. Hi whin, if I looked into it I probably could get a neutered hob but when I breed one of my jills this season the plan is to keep back a hob and have him vasectomised and then the rest of the jills I'll be keeping can be sorted out by him when they come into season in the future
  8. One of my spayed jills is so good at rabbiting I wish I hadn't got her done to be honest Its a good job Ive got another great little worker who Im breeding this season with a proven hob. £29.50! Thats a really good price!
  9. Wow!! I paid £17 for the jill jab last year for two of my jills - they were both in season when I got them and had to do that before I could get them spayed! I know where I'll be going in future mind Thanks for that info FV.
  10. Thanks Gin, I'll ring them in the morning.
  11. That huge quote was from Crofts Vets, Im going with the village vets in Cramlington. I didn't find the number for Robson and Prescot? Would you be able to PM it to me please? Cheers Gin.
  12. Ive never wormed any of my ferrets and have never seen any worms in their faeces. My vet said there should never be any need to worm them.
  13. Kay - Im still absolutely stunned!! How on earth they can justify that price is way beyond me!
  14. Same here Kay, I use the spray. Ive had mine nearly a year now and there's still plenty left. My vet told me to spray it on only when I saw fleas due to it not being licenced but he said it should be ok to use on them.
  15. I'm getting one of my jills spayed next week so I phoned around to get the best price for it and one vet quoted me £165!!! I was stunned. After a few more phone calls I found out my own vet does it the cheapest at £55. So she's booked in next tuesday. Im still gob smacked at the first price I was quoted though - it just shows its best to shop around a bit first
  16. Im also breeding one of my jills this season Im prepared to keep them all as my set up is now big enough - if someone wants a hob kit (Providing there is one) then I will be more than happy to help out. Im hoping to keep one hob though and have him vasectomised. I've got the breeding hutch ready in the ferret court and have put money aside for any unexpected vets bills and all the extra food they will eat.
  17. Mine got out a good few months back - she was only in the street in a neighbours garden. Perhaps yours may be quite close? I hope you get him back.
  18. Must tell this true story regarding crossword clues........! Many years ago a sitting in the pub and the landlord was doing the crossword as he always did and leaning on the bar. He would always shout out the clues he couldn't get in the hope that someone knew the answer........ Well............the clue was....."Nearly a swear word that holds water"........! Quick as a flash a bloke in the bar said "Bucket" The correct answer was Dam.............still laugh about it to this day Rolfe.
  19. Well a roe thats been ragged to hell off god knows how many dogs on the lamp, arse end butchered, throat, etc still alive and then dragged on a barb wire fence still kicking... then their broadcasting it to the world, I honestly give up with these people, there f*****g thick as shit, retarded morons... Im so pleased you reported that, Im also pleased I didnt watch it.
  20. Oh dear, someone cant take constructive criticism Here is the reply I posted earlier for you 'There is no way I would ever use a muzzle on any of my ferrets. In days gone by it may have been the best way forward without the use of locator collars. Times have changed though. No offence intended to the person asking the question at the start of the thread mind - everyone needs to learn somewhere.' I refer to your comment 'If derogatory comments are all you people ' and would like to make my own comment; That to me says it all.
  21. cheers, hope i wake up and can still do it. Lol!! You will.
  22. Last year I got my ferrets and Ive never looked back! Best thing I ever did. be warned though - its very addictive. Great fun though.
