Exactly Matt! The perturbation effect that the antis constantly quote is also badgers filling the void left behind, not as they say badgers fleeing the killing of their families :/ perturbation only occurred on the edges of the cull zones where a void was available to be filled by the hundreds left outside the buffer zones. It's a shame the antis can't grasp that if their precious badgers are responsible then they should be removed as well as the cows! But trials should be left in peace to proceed to the end to get a true result. RBCT would work without AR interference. I'm sure of

They nail every bumblebee and wasp nest they find, they eat eggs and chicks of ground nesting birds etc etc etc. They are a significant predator, they dont just eat worms and slugs. Not to mention crop damage they do! I've seen huge areas of wheat and maize especially trashed by billies, they will often move into a sett made on the edge of maize fields so they dont have to travel far. They are worse than rabbits at times!

we now have a massive problem with badgers !!!!!!!!!!!!!! you should read this weeks farmers guardian and be horrified by the amount of cattle culled because of bovine TB all down to fecking brocks Bovine TB has been ' endemic ' in the national herd, for a long time now, and im certainly not fully convinced at this stage, its all down to badgers.......... Google the thornbury experiment, the culled the badgers in that area, all of them! TB dropped to zero for around 10 years, then over time infected badgers returned and so did TB. No coincidence there! The only reason badgers

Probably struck the rod with a fly on the backcast before hitting the gunwhale, beaded nymphs etc will crack a rod pretty easily especially with a novice on the rod. If its your first year then buy a slightly cheaper rod but better quality flyline and its not such a drama if it breaks, once your technique improves upgrade the rod. Airflo, fishtec, even shakespeare for first rods are decent enough.

Last years cubs been kicked out by the sow, happens every year around now. That's why there's so many on the roads dead and them turning up all over the place. There's a sett up from my house that opens up every year around now when they get kicked out. Pain in the ass when the rocks and spoil end up all over the road!

If you have fences they run on then you can get some plastic strips with spikes on that will stop them walking on your fences. http://www.inest.co.uk/range.asp?typeId=85384

Nicely presented magpie on a freestanding stick base. £90 plus delivery, collection/ meet would be preferred to avoid damage to mount. Pics can be sent to mobiles if wanted.

The only downside to it all that i can see is that it wasn't quorn or similar that had been contaminated Nothing wrong with a bit of horse. Many from this country go abroad for the food market every year. Horse passports have a box to tick if for human consumption or not.

It's simply adrenaline allowing the body to run on.

Take The Shot Or Not Take The Shot
ratattack replied to Philluk's topic in Deer Stalking & Management
According to that post there is NO safe backstop so no way should the shot be taken! If you think the tops of trees are a safe backstop then you need to be thinking again about how you use a rifle! Just because a wood is Private it dosn't mean people couldn't be in there. -
There is no reason they can't be moved to a waiting rifle in a highseat. If done properly the deer will move slowly towards the rifle and could be shot when safely past.

No animal that been put to sleep should be anywhere near a yard being used to feed dogs! They are meant to go for incineration! If I was 4 dogs down by some dickhead putting that meat into the food chain there would be serious trouble for that premises! I would get the means to shut the fuckers down!

The first rule of piking is not to tell people your top ways as then everyone will be at it. It takes plenty of time to learn the water properly, where the bait fish are is where the pike will be, find the small stuff and they wont be far away If deads are to be used then smelt is a good bet. Don't discount small baits like sprats though. Obviously live baits are the best for pike. I will often use 1lb+ liveys where allowed. Had a pike of 9lb hit a 1lb skimmer bream the other week but the 18lbr i had before that took one the size of my palm so less than 8oz. Rigs make a difference, single ho
