  4. is it best to paint them? what type of paint?
  5. i think you have ruined your pup mate ran him to early it will not help a pups confidence running them this time of year when its too hot they cant turn right on hard ground and can pull muscles etc. you could of waited 3 month more and had a dog that would of been at age to start bringing on on the 3/4 grown rabbits and he would of matured more.i got a bitch at 8m old who had been started in the summer time the same bitch now is a picky runner imo she has been over ran too early and ruined
  6. ive got the same problem with mine mate its everywhere on my cars the house and all over the pen, i tried taping 2" of hose pipe on the end but was gone in the morning lol
  7. alright lads just been building myself a new block shed with runs for my dogs coming off its all roofed over and will have a aco drain at the bottom i just wondered what is best to put on the concrete to protect it and stop it smelling
  8. adding other crosses to the bull cross will only better the outcome imo if you use the correct dog but only if you want a allround type dog,if you only need a dog to work with terriers keep to bull grey,i like a dog with good speed stamina feet turning ability and hard so i got a saluki grey x bull grey it does everything i ask as a lamping dog so im happy
  9. my bitch done it one night ran her hard on some hilly hard testing ground on the bunnies she was ok walking back to the car but when she lay down she took a fit,a mars bar brought her round as its all we could get at 4 in the morning in the middle of nowhere.never found out the cause just put it down to over ran when unfit, lesson learned could of lost her and ive heard it can turn dogs funny by having fits.soon as i see them slowing and making hard work i call it a night
  10. running rabbit with a daytime dog will maybe make the dog pull up at hedges but dont know.if you do both try it but if you want a top day dog keep it only for day
  11. i think 100 is about right for a decent pup.ipayed 50 for one and 75 for the other and one i got rid of was 100 so price does not mean there any better May be if you'd payed £150 or more, you might not have got rid not a chance it was not a lamper it burned out to quick was ok for few daytimers though but not my thing
  12. my dad had a terrier and lurcher yrs ago kenneled seperate but one night when putting them away they both went in same run without him noticing next morning 2 very poorly dogs terrier had no skin or fur on its head and lurcher had 2 bones for front legs legs just a accident but both dogs very lucky so i think its a bad idea but so is kenneling any 2 dogs together
  13. i think 100 is about right for a decent pup.ipayed 50 for one and 75 for the other and one i got rid of was 100 so price does not mean there any better
  14. i couldnt help it lol she was standing.i mean put my dog to a bitch haha
  15. deerhound saluki grey is what i see but half the lurcher owners have no idea whats in there dogs could be any breed in it
  16. got the exact cross you mention,he takes rabbit hare deer and fox no bother, all within the law.he took a bit of maturing around fox but has pleased me over the last season he is 2 1/2 now i think with saluki instead of collie you get a more racey faster type but both crosses are verygood if you get the right one
  17. they are two big foxes.they av been lucky to grow to that size
  18. mine jumped a barb fence in the dark after a bunny and hit a single electric fence on the way down little to say he had a sore ald man.he ran 2 fields but then came back, and quickly forgot about it lol
  19. i think bull xs look as though they run different to other crosses from the rear view legs wide open and really digging in some walk like this aswel.mates dog used to kick its front leg out something terrible when walking and look all springy but when working it was as good as any other dog
  20. i never used to do it on the spot but now i do i noticed its a lot easier and less shit to carry home plus you can carry a lot more
