  1. Lads Is it the norm for lurches to take bunnies by the back legs? I have my bitch working really well at the moment, but I have noticed that each rabbit she takes it always by the back legs, and retrieves alive to hand . Last night I went for a quick walk on my own with bitch, cause Reynardhunter is a little woman, to colddddddddd. Anyway I slipped her on a rabbit and she nearly burst the ditch going in after the rabbit, out she comes with rabbit by back legs. Any thoughts?
  2. Have to say that fishing for rainbows was never my cup of tea, they fight well, but could never get into it. Now a wee river in the west of Ireland with wild brown trout would drag me from bed, two nice looking fish by the way, and the pics of the birds are class.
  3. The current Irish record was caught at night, it was taken trolling at 2am, mad b*****ds.
  4. f**k am I glad we dont have that crap over er, Me thinks that the more you go on about this guy the more you winde yourself up. Happy running.

  7. What happened? Looks a nice bitch, still a pup?
  8. Here goes. Pike will eat anything, they wont refuse a free offering. Problem is some Pike do become a tad suspicious when they have been caught regularly on certain baits. They do learn to associate danger with lets say a herring that they have been caught on before. But the down fall of the predator is the fact that it has to feed even when it’s had its fill of fodder fish. On hard fished waters natural bait will catch no matter how many times Pike have been taken on it, they have to eat to survive and their natural prey is the fodder fish so I would always use fresh fodder fish
  9. Whos been a dick head now cock. Ya dont work for Ryanair mate do ya??
  10. Best venue, best rod, reel, bait, and how many times has that big Pike slipped the hooks just when the net was beneath him? Why do big Pike slip the hooks?
  11. Macker thats slander, I would never intrude on your land, but Reynardhunter is a different kettle of fish.
  12. Staffy is that lamp in the pic a 240 blitz? I am looking to get one for lamping with the dog. Thanks JR
  13. Was out with pups last week for a quick run. Both dogs are starting to show good progress, they are both under 12 months, and the brindle bitch retrieves live to hand. The night in question was ment to be a run around for the dogs, but as there were plenty of bunnies around we had a quick slip. Reynard hunter bitch(fawn one) was straight onto a squatter, with the buzz of the chase my bitch slipped her collar and decided to take part in the chase, not good. The rabbit was in full flight when Sash took the bunny from the jaws of Paris(fawn bitch), Paris was in the process of picking
  14. Male model, body double for Arnie, work also for woman mag, oh yeah and I dream.
  15. It all depends when you intend to fish my friend. If you are fishing off the beach then I would use peeler crab, or if I am fishing from rocks then I would lure fish. Bass are well worth they time you have to put into catching them, they fight like a devil.
  16. Interesting Joe. I would say its well worth a lash, lets have a comp now, first guy to catch a pike on a plug/lure at night I will send them some hand tired pike flies by myself. Get them rods out lads. JR
  17. Thats a strange question my friend, had you a problem in school with large ears? As long as the dog does the job, who really cares, unless the Lurcher is vain.
  18. Nice looking dog. I started training when my bitch was six months old, that when I got her, she is well on the way with her training, coming on great, she had her first rabbit last month, when she was nine months old, and she is game for anything that moves, but I do hold her back alot, no point in buring her out so young. Plenty of time for catching bunnies. Good luck with her.
  19. Well done pal, cracking looking Pike. How deep was the river?
  20. Showman Was ther large Pike present within canal??
  21. Macker I had the same problem as you I could never sleep after lamping , but then i discovered that when I stopped picking them little mushrooms when out laming I fell asleep no problem , worth a try
