hi, has anybody ever put a bend in there own stock to make it fit them,i phoned the local shops and they want £300 for the fitting and altering, when i asked how they did it he said they pour hot oil on it then put it in a cast or jig, called(casting) so what does the cast/jig look like? what oil? where do you bend it from? how long do you bend it for? there were a few more alterations to do but i can do them,if anybody has any answers it would really help, any pics of a cast/jig would be good as well. thanks tl

  4. hi, does`nt the patterdale already have bull blood in it? if yours is a good working one,why dont you find another good working one and then breed them together!!! in all honesty for a 100kg wild bore you would need a different type of dog altogether, not a patterdale cross. this is only my opinion! tillylamp
  5. hi mate, i havent heard many good reports on the ratatack smoker,if i was you i would stick with the chainsaw/strimmer route, find a good reliable engine and you will be fine.i used to use a strimmer engine which worked just as good as a proper smoker. hope this helps. tillylamp
  6. hi, ive got a investarm 20bore(folding)o/u,and mine has never failed, totaly reliable, it is right by the way they work, you turn the lever on top once and that opens the barrels, then continue pushing it round till it clicks and that cocks the gun ready to fire. if i was your mate,i would take it back to the same shop he bought it from and get his money back, fair trading and all that!!!! tillylamp.
  7. hi dude, welcome to THL have fun. tillylamp.
  8. hi bairn, my mate and i walked to the top many years ago,we stoped every now and then for a rest but overall its a pretty kind walk, like robbo said we did the same,it was in the summer and it was quite warm at the start,we were in jeans and t shirts, by time we got to the top we were freezing,it was freezing fog and snow balls the size of cars, so take the right clothing with you!!! but it was well worth it, the views are breath taking, and the experience. have fun and enjoy. tillylamp

  15. hi all, we used to have 2 old english mastiffs they were very loyal, obidient, and so easy to train.ours were not the heavist of mastiffs, they were only 15 stone, most of them are heavier towards 20 stone, our dogs father was 18 stone, they were gentle giants towards us and family members, but when they go into gaurd mode they look, and do the job well.they have a tendency to hold with the mouth rather than a series of bites but the more resistance the stronger the hold. the life expendency of these dogs is not great,a 20 stone one takes about 2 years to fully mature and only lives to about 6 ye

  18. hi all, my mate has given up shooting now,so he gave me his o/u shotgun,so i thought i would try it out but it doesnt fit me,whats the best way to get it to fit me as i really want to get to use it? do i go to a gun shop,or are there products on the market to add to the gun? it feels to short from the butt end to the trigger, also i have to really bend my neck to look straight up the barrel, any advice would really help me. thanks tillylamp.
