  3. hi, i used to put chocolate in mine and they loved it,also never touch the trap with your bare hands or you will taint it with your sent, rats are very clever up untill they get traped, and dont put the trap directly on a run as it makes them very warey,i used to set my traps to the side of them,it may be that your not using the wrong food as the bait but the place your putting your trap could be wrong, thanks tl
  4. Well another one to test your memories Whats your favourite pudding? Mine is the good old fashioned Spotty Dick made the old way with suet and boiled in an old tea towel. When it was cold we used to cut it like a loaf and put REAL butter on it with brown sugar.....yummy the dogs bollocks !! Thats how my Gran used to do it and to this day no one can match it. Also Jam roly poly yum yum. When we went out for a meal there was Spotty Dick on the menu, so yep you guessed it, I had no choice but to try it..after all it would be rude not to a? when it arrived it was NOT spotty dick it

  7. Hi people Has anyone got any claims to fame or a 15minutes of fame? Mine is I met Ray Winston at a bar in a hotel. Very nice bloke. Also met sgt Cryer from the TV series The Bill at Brand Hatch British Superbikes. Steve Plater, Steve Parish, Neil McKenzie (all bike riders). Also met Barry Sheene, my opinion being the best r.i.p. Also Bob Mortimer, Vic Reeves (shooting stars) Julian Clarey, Paul O'Grady, Paul McCartney, Johanna Lumley, Jan Francis all live local to me. Sometimes see Vic and Paul in Tescos or at local fetes. Not that many people will care but Timmy Mallett

  13. Hi In the eighties I had a proper whippet crossed greyhound from working stocks and it was, in my opinion, one of the best workers I have seen. It would take rabbit, squirrel, rat, hare and even caught the odd pheasant. He was a tough little cookie and it just naturally came to him with minimal training to hunt these down. He was exceptional because what ever he saw he would just naturally go for it. He was a one off who is much talked about within my family. Sadly missed fell to the big C (aged 12 years) as do many others. He was very fast and could twist and turn on a sixpence a

    chainsaws

hi mate, i used to do tree surgery a few years back, and logging in the winters, and over that time ive seen many a differant types of saws, but the best saws on the market are husquavas, reliable, smooth, and consistent power, with chainsaws you can buy what i call a farmers saw which is a saw you use now and then,or a professional saw which you use every day, keep the chain sharp, make shaw the woods clean before you cut it,and dont cut through the wood and dip the saw into the ground. tl
  16. hi dbritt, i will do that,im interested,thanks tl
  17. hi, the sak mod, that i was going to get was the one for my .22lr cz rifle, and not a air rifle, its not illegal to sell them without a british standard kite mark, but because it hasnt got one its not on the authorities list of aproval, maybe if it had a proof mark on it that would be ok, the real way to be shaw is to ask when buying one, thanks tl
  18. hi, how do you make one from a wiper motor then? im interested to know, thanks tl
  19. hi, i was going to get the sak silencer until,my mate who worked at a gun shop said(quietly in my ear) that they did not comply to british standards, and if i was seen by the authorities use one they are with in there rights to take it off the gun!! this was a few years ago now and they may have made them to british standard, worth checking! thanks tl
  20. thanks willum, i thought it sounded a lot of money, they wanted £70 for the fitting on the range(1 hour),£140 for the casting, and £70+ for the lengthening, so i phoned another shop and they said "the fitting was free, the casting was £140+£40-£70 for lengthening too, i guess more phone calls to be made!!! thanks tl
  21. thanks watchman, the gun`s worth about £200,i can usually turn my hands to most things,if i knew what the jig looked like and where to put the hot oil and bend it from, i would give it good consideration. thanks tl
