  1. merry xmas to you all, I hope you have a great day.
  2. hi, I used to have a non turbo impreza sport wagon and the engine in this is identical to the forester, mine wasn't to bad on fuel I used to get about 270 miles to a tank of fuel at about £65 to fill it up, the forester you want is the gls model,i think they do a bit more to the gallon, "well my mates did", and also my wagon had the hi/low ratio gearbox the same as the forester, the forester has got better a ground clearance than mine but it didn't stop me going across fields though, over all they are a very good car, good engine, good load space, and reliable with a good buying price. hope
  3. Charlie caller you are dead right, my dad has got a 1994 Toyota landcruiser vx 4.2 td, top of the range, he has owned it for about 16 years now and in that time it has never let him down, totally reliable and very comfortable on/off road, with it being two and a half ton in weight it tows heavier weights really well, you could probably just drive these vehicles around the world with ease, and also I was talking to my mate, and he told me it was voted one of the best vehicles ever made in the world, as stated from a car magazine, so when someone says that jap 4x4's are shit when comparing them
  4. hi, I think your right mate, my brother had one brand new in 1998, I think it was a 2.5td manual, and he said I was good on fuel and worked well off road, I liked it, it seemed very good, ive never owned one but i wouldn't hesitate to have one. thanks tillylamp
  5. hi, totally agree with you Charlie caller
  6. hi, when you say what's the point of having push button 4wd,and sports mode, on a 4wd........the push button for 4wd is so smooth, quick, and easily switched to 4wd/2wd without having to shift a leaver. You don't even have to be stationery for apply the button, which again is a good idea. and as for sports mode, you get the best of both worlds, you can use it as a normal 4x4 on the road and just plod along, or with the sports mode on in 2wd, it gives you that better acceleration and with the suspension set from soft to hard it gives you better handling and also improved torque. this now
  7. hi, just my opinion, landrovers are a pile of crap, over rated and over priced, the defender I once drove in was hideous to say the least, cramped, uncomfortable, noisey, and so unrefined, and that's on a 54 plate, I would never even think about paying £6000-£7000 grand for a 97-98 model, I prefer jap models which are more reliable, comfortable, and cheaper, ive had a Toyota 3.0td surf for 8 years and all ive had to do to it is a water pump, alternator, front shock, and tail pipe, and oil changes of course, mine is a 94 model and its got 4 electric windows, electric sunroof, electric mirrors,
  8. hi, I use to have a non turbo Scooby wagon sport, and it was a very good motor, for light on/off road work, ie- across flatish fields it was ok, it had the hi/low ratio gear box which was very handy, I used to get about 270 miles to a tank of fuel costing £60-£65 to fill up, it also corned well because of the full time all wheel drive, it wasn't a super fast car like the turbo versions but mine wasn't that slow either, but what you lacked in speed you made it up on the bends because of the awd, they don't sell for a lot of money unlike the turbo's do, so don't expect to get loads of money for
  9. hi mate, welcome to the site mate, I tend to use one eye for all my shooting, it doesn't feel right when I tried it with both eyes open, but im sure others will favour either. thanks tillylamp
  10. hi moxy, there was the same print on ebay which sold for £27.99, in march, so not worth much just enjoy looking at it,
  11. I would be happy to spend about £30-£50 for a recommended good one.
  12. hi, can somebody point me in the right direction to a good mincer, im not after the top of the range, at a load of money, just a good one that I could use as and when I need it, I saw some electric ones on fleabay, are they any good?, if so which ones? any help will be appreciated, and thanks in advance, tl
  13. hi, I think they really look the part, but that's as far as I would go, it was hideous, I prefer the jap 4x4 motors they are far more superior up against the landrover and more reliable,
  14. hi, the guy im working for left his keys to his defender with me incase I needed to move it, it was a newish one and really nice to look at,so I had to move it and well !!!,what a pile of shit it was, i couldn't sit square onto the steering wheel because there wasn't enough room between the door and me,the seats were like sitting on a sheet of ply wood, and there was no leg room at all, and so basic it reminded me of my 4x4 lada I used to have fiftheen years ago,it was hideous! to say the least, from what ive just experienced I don't understand how landrover has got such a prestigious name an

  16. the Michael gomez v alex Arthur fight was a very good fight, well worth a watch,i really loved the out come of it.
  17. he was a brilliant fighter, his nickname was, hands of stone, because he preferred to fight bare knuckle rather than with gloves, he also owned a stretch of a beach in panama and if anybody went on it he would fight them.
  18. hi, i was thinking of taking up a bit of fly fishing along side my other fishing, but which are good fly rods and reels?what size reel would i need?also what line? i just need pointing in the right direction, when i saw some reels for sale on flea bay they had a couple of numbers like 6/7 or 8/9 what does this mean,? i would like to use it on the rivers, for chub, rudd, roach, and even the odd trout that comes my way as we dont have alot of trout where i am, any advise will be much appriciated and thanks in advance, tillylamp

  21. hi i dont know if anyone has mentioned it on here, but lydl are selling cree torches for £7 with a adjustable beam and in a carry case which fits on your belt, its got 3 modes, bright, very bright, and flashing,it would be nice if it just had the one mode though, i thought i would let others know,
  22. thank for them answers,i want to build my own box trailer, hence the question.
  23. hi, has anybody altered a trailer chassis before,my question is:i want to widen the wheel base from 6ft 4inch to 7ft 4inch, is it easier to alter a axle trailer? or a independent suspension trailer? i have a choice of two trailer chassis both being four wheels,if anyone has altered any trailers in this way i would be pleased to hear about it. thanks tl
  24. hi, when you say youve only had it for 1 week, could it be that the previous owner could have upset someone when they had the car? just a thought
