I wasn’t going to say any more, but in an attempt to add some sanity I’ll write this. Now regular members of this forum will have seen me write about me coaching youth football both in England and Ireland and my work in schools in England. In short that means I have an Enhanced CRB check in England and the equivalent Guarda Check in Ireland. They rake through every detail of your past. I think you can be a lifelong fan but if you just like your football you have no bother going to the local non league side.......I certainly didn’t. It was on my doorstep which was handy for the boy in term time for mid week games, he was in the youth system there so got a season ticket buck shee and it was a tenner for me. Right up next to the pitch, have a fag and a tea and just enjoy the grit of that level. It wasn’t the same as going up the hammers but I found myself enjoying it more and more. What do I do for my kids.....mmmmm? Well, what I consider the most important thing is that I say “sort it out for yourself” all the time! Eapecially having two girls, I consider it almost more important for them than the boys.......dont want them growing up like those needy birds who always require some f***ing idiot bloke to complete them. I always tell them “you may wake up one morning and find the boyfriend/husband is actually a complete f***ing idiot and if you can do things and being independent holds no fear you can just say “Bye Mate” And f**k him off”
