I seriously doubt they are worse off than in soviet times ! some are worse off maybe, some are no better off and some are much better off.....that’s probably the truth of it. Most countries reflect the nature of their people so it wouldn’t matter who was in charge, it would still be the same. Saying that out and out scum bags are a victim of circumstance is a f***ing disease in Britain and Ireland.......a scum bag would still be a scum bag if Roman Abramovich went skint tomorrow !

Don’t get me wrong mate, I have no problem with them two scumbags getting ironed out. But, it’s exactly the same as taking any convicted para military (from whichever side) outside the court into the yard and topping them. You either approve of the state having the power to kill people who are putting other people in danger/causing harm or you don’t ?....... The leaders of the Easter rising were hanged or shot (can’t remember which) by the government for violent crime......exactly the same thing here. As I say, I don’t have a problem with it......

I’ll give you that one mate, I don’t always have the most elequent turn of phrase. I suppose maybe a better way of putting it is that it’s a bit hypocritical to condone state sanctioned killing when so much of your own history has been based around protesting against state sanctioned killing. Im sure I’ll get in bother whatever way I say it ! Lol

RIC were normal coppers and the Auxiliaries (Black&tans) were basically a para military force recruited under the idea of fighting fire with fire.......which is obviously always going to be a bad idea. Because at the time Ireland was still part of Great Britain and the commonwealth so the queen/ king etc was the head of state. The RIC were Irishmen who happened to be coppers enforcing the law as prescribed by the government of that land at the time........no different from a guard today. i won’t get I to who did what, just pointing out the facts really mate

I totally agree with the last part but it’s like an IT consultant telling a hod carrier how hard it is to climb the stairs. You have to remember that a lot of that golden generation were at Unt, staying in digs on their own from age 14 in a club managed by Ferguson who everybody knows was a hard nosed c**t.
