What a depressing conversation !…….if I had to sum up old bill shops and prisons and everything to do with them in one word it would be “Depressing” ! They ain’t places and situations you want to remember, they are the ones you want to forget.

I’m not talented or musical at all but after watching the Fleetwood Mac documentary my opinion is that Buckingham is a craftsman of his art……it was fascinating listening to him talk about small details in the studio, how he could sit and listen to a track and decide it needed a guitar sound here or a piano sound there for just the briefest second, letting you listen to the before & after and it changes the whole song entirely….i could listen to people like that all day. There’s still a few bands about, but they ain’t radio playlist any more. A young up and coming band who have embraced the Mod scene a bit and that I’ve been following are a band called The Molotovs…..so they are still out there, they just don’t get airtime….too white I suppose ! London Grammar are another I like

We grew up on Quadraphenia mate and all my group of pals used it as a life reference, we quote it to each other to this day ! lol I went and watched them perform it at Earls Court, Zac Starkey on drums and Billy Idol as the punk in “The Punk & The Godfather” song……one of the great evenings of my life.

Daltrey is the friend of a good pal of mine, by all accounts he was plodding away until recently I think earning a nice few quid doing his thing. His place is spot on, lovely historic gaff in East Sussex and is set up to keep him pottering about at something all the time….obviously he has a couple of blokes who work for him so it’s tidy. I had a drive round his farm and trout lake and then upto the house, got given the tour…it’s exactly what your boy off the plot made good but who ain’t flash would have….old England, classy.

He always came across as a sound lad that Tony in as much as you can judge anyone from looking at them, hearing them talk on snippets on the telly or reading interviews.

Timmy’s Mallets brother had Down’s syndrome and he looked after him all his life right upto his death, as I said, he is a painter now and has just cycled all the way round ireland exploring and painting…..

The Eels !……top shout mate ! A band you don’t hear nearly enough about but who are in fact, awesome ! Beautiful Freak is imho one of the all time great albums ! My personal favourite song is “Guest List”, it’s one of those songs that you feel could have been written about you…. Magic name drop there big lad…..nice one By the way, talking of Hendrix….his version of little wing of far superior to Stevie Ray Vaughn’s imho

Don’t worry about it, Britain is going to crash and burn within the next 5 years….either financially, civically or both……it can’t escape where it’s headed. Thats not hysterical nonsense by the way, that’s cold hard fact…..it’s in a death spiral economically and socially that it just can’t recover from. I defiantly wouldn’t be taking on any big long term debt that’s for sure…..this is going south and when it does, it will happen fast.
