True mate. Do you know what, it’s f***ing horrible really when you work with kids too because of what these dirty fuckers have done. Dont get me wrong, the child protection is good and making sure there is always a second adult present is brilliant for protecting both the kids and yourself but it’s shit thinking “Can I pick that kid up if they hurt themselves or give them a Pat on the back if they do well” We are all victims of these f***ing arseholes, they stole everyone’s innocence in that regard.

I watched the first 6 episodes last night, I liked it. I don’t know if it’s intentional but I think it’s social critique of the modern world. Maybe my view will change when I watch the last 3 but as it stands, that’s what I think it is and I’m liking it.

Joking aside I just read that after him and another couple of people staged some direct action protests Kings College removed £14 million of investments from fossil fuel companies……so his methods worked there.

Broadly speaking you wouldn’t be too wide of the mark mate. And in current times, in Britain, yes. Id say that’s a pretty fair assessment without getting into too much detail and small print.

Not at all mate, the “ambulance” angle came into play when they first started the protests so when it came up in this latest bit of conversation and knowing what I know, I just didn’t pay it any attention or give it any weight. I ignored it because (and this is only my opinion) it was probably worth ignoring.

At last, a sensible conversation….got there in the end didn’t you ? ”Within reason”……who decides that then ? What is the measure ? They are only playing by the rules the government set, the precedent they allowed, which is that if you don’t cause mayhem then nobody listens…..if government had taken any notice of reasonable arguments ever then it wouldn’t get to this, but they didn’t, they ignored and legislated against people. My old governor asked me to help him on a job a few years back, he had brought a lad with him and that lad was in his phone all the time. Now my old governor is the most horrible, hard nosed old b*****d you have ever met when you are working, I was the only one mental enough to work with him until I bought him out…..he just used to break people. So, anyway, he says to this lad “get off your phone” and as soon as he is gone the lads back on the phone. Tells him again and now I’m chuckling to myself because I know the explosion is coming ! I have many flaws of character mate, I feely admit it, but knocking old folks about because they made me late to plaster some c**ts wall ain’t one of them ?

I ended up with a decent little team of lads, my work used to be very, very physically demanding and mentally demanding too with some of the hours required and the work ethic required too. Thats very hard for young lads to just walk into, they didn’t know this type of graft existed so you have to nurture people a bit. Many of my lads would have been considered some of the lowest in society, unskilled, unqualified and unemployed upto the point they came to work for me but when we were in the thick of it those lads became emperors……and the best bit was, you could see they knew it and y

First lesson I used to say to lads, never assume, make sure. I personally have always hated all that “f**k about with the new lad” mentality……I got a bit of it when I was young and I always thought them type of blokes were pricks and do you know what, they are ! I never did it with my own lads, it can break young lads….as I said, bad management mate.
