I had a coursing type dog once, came to me as a gift. It was out of a fairly well known coursing lads stuff, I just found it very fragile…..it was always breaking toes, or knocking itself up or some other injury…..maybe in the hands of a better owner it would have been different but it just wasn’t robust enough for me.

No, I don’t doubt it at all mate. It was I just looked at that lovely animal in the picture and it looks so finely tuned….my first thought was “I’d break that just knocking about”……I’d be genuinely worried to run it at anything except what it was bred for on the ground it was meant to run on. As I say, it’s not some big statement, it was just something that glided into my head when I looked at the picture. Once again, fantastic looking dog, a credit to its owner ?

Just a thought, and I genuinely don’t know the answer, but I wonder how relevant these out & out heavy saluki blood coursing types are now days? I mean they seem a very specialist tool to a very small pool of people…..? As I say, I have no opinion about it, just something that crossed my mind.

I may be way off the mark here but my personal opinion is that all this honour amongst thieves and all that is nonsense. Being at it is like anything else in life, you have honour amongst your circle of pals, you live to your own standards and treat people in a way that sits right with you. Did you watch the video ?……the old boy asked them to step aside to make way for the horses and was set upon ! These people came looking for trouble and they were going to make sure they got it, there’s absolutely nothing that can be done about that. Theres literally no other option than to defend yourself, anyone would. The bits and bats I have seen, I thought the hunt and their supporters conducted themselves very well, it’s the sabs that were a load of f***ing savages. Please don’t anyone get offended or take this the wrong way, it’s more just an observation. I have not exactly led what you’d call a sheltered life but even to this day I find it absolutely bizarre watching grown blokes discus weed like this, I just can’t fathom it at all, as in, zero comprehension.
