Personally I think he saw the thread and then went out to graft his dog as much as he could........nothing wrong with that.

And in some places, that would be exactly the right thing to do because you would break a dog on certain land with that amount, but if they were there to be caught then I say, make hay while the sun shines.......historically speaking of course.

Very true, it was like daylight at midnight and stuff was very thin on the ground........dont know what it was like where this lad was, but it was very hard going local to me. Yep,had a look myself Wilf and my mutt worked it's socks off to catch 25 bunnies last night,it wasn't too bad to be honest where i was,pretty light but we had a bit of drizzle and a good wind blowing but further South conditions weren't as good? How old is this dog?.......if its a young dog then in my mind, there are no "rules"............if its an adult dog, you still cant knock the bloke for going out and putting that amount of graft in front of the dog. And I am sure that if he is willing to work the dog hard (as it seems he is) then he would have little problem trying it daytime as well, we all know that you wont catch as many but its not about that is it?.......its about finding as much work for your dog as you can throw at it. Obviously, this was just a shooting trip so its all in theory anyway

No matter what your feelings on the subject, if that lads dog had caught them (instead of the lad shooting them) then that dog would have done very, very well indeed and I would be the first to say thats a top night and some good work for your dog.

Depends how far on it was, what I do know is, you love them all the same..........my niece is downs, but my brother has always treated her normally and taken her everywhere with him. Shes a young woman now, has a job and too all intents and purposes leads a normal life. Yes, there are certain things you have to consider that you wouldnt have to with a "normal" young woman, but we all love her dearly and our world would be poorer without her.........sometimes, you have to make the best job of what god gives you

Theres no f*****g joy in having to cull any animal that you have had in your care mate and anyone who says there different is a bit of a twat imho. When you rehome something, all I will say is "Be honest about who you are doing it for".........is it for the dog or to make the ex-owner feel better.

Dealt with loads of them mate, you have to be hard with them, give them an inch and they will try and take a mile. Normally they are shit scared of the law as well, so ask for your upto date payment at a certain day and time and tell them if its not there to the second you are away to put a charge on their house, but mean it! Let them know they will have to pay all the interest as well..........be hard with them, its the only way. Its the same with Africans

I dont think there is a right or wrong, you cant look down on someone because they love their dog.........thats just plain madness, but at the same time you cant dig a bloke out who wont except second best either, if its not working for him then its not. The person who will move on has to feed the thing, pay the diesel, clean up the shit so he has every right to make that call IMHO............Its OK rehoming these things, and I have done it twice but only because I was sure and the dog had done nothing wrong, But if a dog is genuinely not up to scratch, why prolong the agony............a

I think, like horses, you get good "doers" and bad "doers"............if you get a bad doer, its a f*****g nightmare JMHO

I would say 50 was a decent amount and more so if your were running at mixed quarry over the course of the season.

if you mean they likely to run off and eat it i dont think this is the case,i asked about it few weeks ago dont think anyone really had any major problems...................good luck with the pups nightstalker The big fat f****r in my kennel will do it now and again, he bit one in half the other night and swallowed the head and rib cage before I could get him under control but for me, its not the end of the world........its so rare that it dont matter.

I have seen red hinds that were only around the size of a fallow buck, the op would have had 31 runs on hares.........thats approx 15 for each dog or 31 doubled up.........on large fields that would destroy a dog as I know only too well. So those numbers dont stack up at all, but I also know that I have not been everywhere in the country so until I went to the place it was done and saw it with my own eyes I would never say never.
